Maurice Jones-Drew is undergoing foot surgery on Friday and will be out until May.
The Jaguars could have bought themselves two or three months by just sending Jones-Drew to injured reserve and surgery back in Week 7 when the sprain initially occurred. MJD will now be up against the clock for offseason workouts, even though he should be fine for training camp. Jones-Drew is under contract for $4.95 million in 2013, the final year of the deal. The full extent of Jones-Drew's foot injury is still unknown. His 2012 season ended with 86 carries for 414 yards (4.81 YPC) and one touchdown.
