  • Patriots and RT Vollmer agree to 4-year deal

Patriots agreed to terms with RT Sebastian Vollmer on a four-year contract.
ESPN Boston's Field Yates first broke the news, then the Boston Herald's Karen Guregian had the years. After having no market in the first two weeks of free agency, it was appearing more likely that Vollmer would be back in New England. Offensive tackles were flying off the market in the opening two days of free agency, but Vollmer, among others, missed the boat on the big money. The Patriots in all likelihood are locking Vollmer, 29 in July, up for cheaper than they initially expected to. New England will bring back its entire offensive line, and Vollmer is easily one of the top right tackles in football when healthy. He missed one game in 2012.
