Profootballtalk reports Victor Cruz's recent switch to CAA for his player representation came in anticipation of the group's partnership with Roc Nation.
In other words, he's aligning with Jay-Z, like the Yankees' Robinson Cano. Cruz hinted at the partnership in October, and will entrust the new venture with the "overall representation and management" of his career. Hopefully Roc Nation is ready for a negotiation that should be much trickier than Cano's. The news calls to mind Ricky Williams' ill-fated partnership with Master P, but Roc Nation's alliance with CAA should ensure the novice agency doesn't negotiate any bum deals.
