Patriots RCB Alfonzo Dennard was sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years probation Thursday.
Dennard was found guilty of assaulting a police officer after a fight outside a Nebraska bar last April. However, the judge delayed his jail start date until March 1 of 2014, so he'll be available for the entire offseason program and regular season. The NFL is not expected to discipline Dennard because the incident occurred before he was in the league. It's another gamble that pays off for the Patriots, as Dennard was expected to be at least a second-round pick before the fight. Bill Belichick & Co. stole him in the seventh round.
