  • Donovan McNabb to retire as an Eagle in Sept.

Free agent Donovan McNabb announced on NBC Sports Radio that he will retire as a member of the Eagles in September.
McNabb, 36, says the team suggested having the ceremony on September 19, when Andy Reid and the Chiefs come to town for a Thursday night game. McNabb hasn't played since making six starts for the Vikings in 2011. He's since moved on to NFL Network as an analyst. McNabb played 11 seasons with the Eagles, leading them to six division titles, five NFC Championship games, and one Super Bowl appearance. He completed 59 percent of his passes for 37,276 yards, 234 touchdowns, and 117 interceptions. McNabb also ran for 29 scores, finishing with a respectable 85.6 QB rating.
