  • Saints deal Sproles to Eagles for 5th-rounder

Saints traded RB Darren Sproles to the Eagles in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
The NFL's No. 2 offense just got more dangerous. Chip Kelly is a master at using dynamic, versatile talents in space to his advantage, and Sproles fits that bill perfectly. He's caught 70+ passes in each of the last three seasons. Sproles will split out wide some, provide a major boost in the return game and give LeSean McCoy some third-down breaks as he comes off a 366-touch season. Sproles turns 31 in June, but is entering the final year of his contract. It's a low-risk, high-upside move for an Eagles team with sights set on the Super Bowl. They had two fifth-round picks as a result of the Isaac Sopoaga trade.

Well, since Mrs. Toshi is such a huge fan of Sproles, she will now be watching the Eagles much more closely. I told her with Foles as their QB, she will be a fan of the Eagles!
I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.

I don't quite understand the trade. Trade for, more or less the same kind of back they already have featured, who is one of the best in the league. Sure he might get injured a some points in his career but Sproles is as injury prone if not more so than McCoy.

Sproles return game is horrible now a days. He isn't nearly as fast as he used to be.
Looking for Saints, LSU Alum, Eddie Lacy, Tyler Wilson, and any player with Louisiana ties.
