Seahawks signed FS Earl Thomas to a four-year, $40 million extension through 2018.
He's now locked up through his age-29 season, giving Thomas a chance at one more monster contract before his career is through. Having started 64-of-64 games since entering the league as the 14th overall pick out of Texas in 2010, Thomas has logged 15 career interceptions, five forced fumbles, and 32 pass breakups while arguably emerging as football's premier center-field safety. Still only 25 years old (in May), Seahawks players are alleged to privately consider Thomas the team's best defensive back, ahead of Richard Sherman. It's early, of course, but Thomas is on a Hall of Fame early-career track with three Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pro berths through his first four NFL seasons.
