Steelers signed C Maurkice Pouncey to a five-year, $44 million contract extension.
The massive extension is tacked onto the final year of Pouncey's rookie contract, meaning he now has a six-year, $48 million deal. It also includes a $13 million signing bonus -- more than the signing bonus Colin Kaepernick got last week. The Steelers obviously have no concerns about Pouncey's rehab from last year's torn ACL and MCL as he's now the highest paid center in the NFL, eclipsing Alex Mack. Pouncey is just 24 and was a Pro Bowler in his first three NFL seasons, but has never been higher than 12th in PFF's center grades.
