  • Russell Wilson Named Top Selling NFL Player

50 Most Popular NFL Players Based on Merchandise Sales

It might not mean as much as a Super Bowl ring, but Russell Wilson tops the list as the top-selling player in the NFL for the second fiscal quarter according to the NFLPI, the licensing side of the NFL Players Association. Wilson takes over the top spot from rookie Johnny Manziel who topped the previous poll.

Wilson's ranking is based on sales of all officially licensed products sold between June 1 and August 31, 2014 in both retail stores and online. Items include jerseys, clothing, figures and other collectibles.

The Seahawks quarterback is one of five players to crack the top 50. Wilson led all players in both jersey and Nike t-shirt sales.

Coming in second is Peyton Manning, who had the top-selling Fathead wall deckle. Three more quarterbacks round out the top 5: Colin Kaepernick, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.

After causing lots of interest around the draft, Manziel goes from first down to seventh. He is still the only rookie to rank in the top 50.

The Bears' Brandon Marshall is the biggest mover on the list. He jumps from 31 up to 13, a leap of 18 spots.

Below is the full list of the NFLPI's top 50 sellers for the second fiscal quarter.
