  • Peterson's agent: We want out of Minnesota

Yahoo Sports reports Adrian Peterson is pondering potential trade destinations, and is willing to consider a contract restructure to facilitate a deal.
Charles Robinson reports Peterson is having an "open dialogue" with the Vikings about his future, and has "entertained" remaining in Minnesota. Robinson lists the Cardinals, Colts, Cowboys, Chargers and Bucs as Peterson's preferred destinations in a trade. The Vikings have thus far insisted they want Peterson back, but it's nearly impossible to see that happening at Peterson's currently-scheduled $12.75 million salary.

The Bucs are a really odd team to be on his trade list. With only a short window of time left in his career the other teams at least offer an above average chance of playing deep into the playoffs.

Decker - Jets comes to mind.

Peterson's agent nixes meeting with Vikes GM

Yahoo!'s Charles Robinson reports Adrian Peterson's agent refused a dinner meeting with Vikings GM Rick Spielman at the NFL owners' meetings.
This is turning into a messy divorce. Peterson's camp has been at odds with Minnesota's front office since the Combine and it doesn't look like the two sides will ever see eye-to-eye again. The Vikings seem to be in denial about Peterson's future with the team.

Peterson's agent: We want out of Minnesota

Adrian Peterson's agent told USA Today that "we want out of Minnesota."

Peterson's agent is doing the dirty work here, as he came out on Wednesday and said he "doesn't think it's in the best interests of Peterson to play for the Vikings." The ball is in GM Rick Spielman's court, as he holds all the cards. The Vikings are in fine shape with the salary cap and can carry Peterson's $15 million-plus cap hit if they have to. And with Minnesota poised to take another step forward in Teddy Bridgewater's sophomore season, they may choose to hold onto A.D. More likely, the two sides go their separate ways. Arizona is a potential landing spot.
