Goodell won't recuse self from Brady appeal

Commissioner Roger Goodell has declined to recuse himself from Tom Brady's appeal hearing.
"Because protecting the integrity of the game is the commissioner’s most important responsibility, I decline to rewrite our CBA to abrogate my authority and discretion to hear any appeal in a conduct detrimental proceeding," Goodell said. The NFLPA's request was always a long shot. Brady and Goodell will meet on June 23.
