I like the Pinball HOF idea...im guessing there are playable machines in there, not just one's for show?? ....the wife might have to drop me off at this one while she shops elsewhere.

I like the swap meet idea too...that one is on my agenda for sure!....and the "other" pawn shop I didnt know about, Im not much into a pawn shop that carries merchandise of themselves!!!

Trip is still a month and a half away so keep the tips comin!!!!
Yes, all, if not most, of the machines are playable in the pinball hof. They even have really old and rare ones! Heck, my wife played the pinball machines with me for 2 hours! Our forearms and thumbs were sore for a few days afterward, haha

the junk store next to the pawn stars shop isn't a pawn shop. They just have a lot of vintage collectible stuff. Little expensive, but if nothing else, fun to look at.

We seem to always find something different and fn to do in Vegas every time we go...

In no particular order, these are great!

    1. Penn & Teller at the RIO. They do a meet and greet after every show.
    2. Ping Pang Pong Chinese restaurant at the Gold Coast. GREAT Chinese food!
    3. Pinball hall of fame! $10 lasts a long time in there! Much cheaper and more fun than gambling!
    4. Twilight Zone 3D Slot machine! We played at the Gold Coast, but they are probably scattered throughout Vegas by now
    5. Broadacres swap meet/flea market
    6. It's fun to see the Pawn Star Pawn Shop once, but it's just like every other pawn shop except it's busy and half the store is show merchandise. When you leave there, continue north on las Vegas Blvd and hit the next "junkie" shop right on the the next corner from the pawn stars shop. Much cooler.
    7. Next time we go to Vegas we might go check out Rick Dale's restorations. He's the guy who restores stuff for the pawn stars.
    8. Check out the Toy Shack on Fremont Street. The owner is the guy who appraises the pawn star toys and the shop is AWESOME!

I know this thread was started in May, but you aren't going until the end of July so I thought these might help you figure out some fun stuff to do.

    Enjoy!

The Excaliber jousing show is fun, I did that one years ago on one of my 1st time to Vegas.....ripping into a meal, while bangin my beer stein on the table for a refill during the show.....good times!!

We have the Renaissance festival here in AZ once a year, pushed up boobs everywhere, beer, turkey legs, staff walking around in charactor, saying "good morrow, sir!", jousting shows, and all that. Its a good time, but not our kinda thing EVERY year. We went once 2 years ago and havnt been back.

As far as doin the Heli tour.....we went on a heli tour in Sedona, AZ a couple years ago and had a blast......but like skydiving (twice for me), once you do it once, Im good for this lifetime, we dont have the urge to be in anymore Heli's.

    Great suggestions guys....keep em coming!!

It'll be tough.....but the wife and I will TRY to refrain from ordering too many hookers.....lol. I think I'm more likely to get a ride to jail from punching out one of those porn flyer-slappers....man, those guys are annoying!!!
I had a hunch that the pawn star "stars" would be hard to catch.....once their wallets got fat, I'm sure they only started showing up when the camera's were rolling.....oh well, maybe we'll get lucky and catch Chumley.

Some good advice so far....keep it coming!

Well after watching a Cops marathon, some advice would be to stay away from hookers (they are obviously not legal in Vegas proper, go figure, Sin City right?) North Vegas looks scary so stay away from there, watch your wallet while walking around and keep your drinking inside the casinos. LOL Actually, my wife went there with her sisters and they went on a day trip to Hollywood, which she said was pretty cool. My daughter and her husband also went and they stopped at the Pawn Shop and were told that the main dudes, Chumly, The Old man, Cory and Rick are rarely there.

lol....that was definetly going to be one of our stops since its popularity blew up over the last couple years. Would like to get a picture with Chumly or whoever else is there.

We'll be there early in the week, thru the weekend, so cheaper show tickets is definetly on the agenda.

    Anyone else??
