  • Is It Possible To Spend Only $1 A Day On Enough Food

I found this article about a woman who is trying to spend only $365 a year on food due to the economy.

I dont know how this is possible. Even with weekly sales and double coupons, it would still be hard to accomplish.

You could do it....combining bulk foods with a TON of ramen noodles? It can be done.

It could be done on the college student's diet. Ramen noodles, cans of tuna, and 10 pound bags of potatoes. Plus markets always have produce and fruits on sale each week for pretty cheap.

I don't think it's too hard. It would involve alot of mooching off friends though lol.

Can't be done in a healthy way. Besides, food should be the last thing you decide to cut back on. You could probably do it for $5/day, so you're saving $1500/yr by trying to do it for $1/day? Take an extra 4 hr shift/week somewhere and make the extra money instead.

Wasn't there some article about a lady in oregon who panhandled as a "job". At the end of the day, she'd change out of the grubby clothes, get into her family sedan and drive back to her suburban home.

Supposely she made like a couple hundred bucks a day or something.

So instead of cutting back, find a way to make more.
