Tough to say....top 5's/top 10's are still gonna be key, but that extra 4/5 points for winning becomes huge. Plus bad races will kill you a lot more with the new system.

But I still think people will points race just like every other year....if you top-5 'em to death in the final 10, it really won't matter if you win or not.

I'm sure guys like Bowyer, Newman, and Stewart will be racing to win one in the final 10 races. As a racing fan, I wouldn't want any driver to be points racing. If you aren't trying to win the race each week, get the hell off the track.

The way I've always looked at it...if you are finishing in the top five, it's because you were trying for the win, but I understand what you are saying and agree.

Now, at the end of the year I hope NASCAR doesn't sit back and say "geesh we gotta fix the point system......again...."

If you finish in the top 5, or even top 10 every race in the chase, there is a very good chance you'll come out on top, unless someone gets crazy, and puts up 3, or 4 wins. These guys all want to win each week. That is their mentality. I doubt any chase driver climbs in their car, and says to themself " I hope I finish 6th today."
