    Impact Wrestling Results
    July 28th, 2011

This week's Impact Wrestling opens up with Kurt Angle walking down the ramp to the ring. Kurt calls out Hogan and tells him to come down right now so they can end this once and for all. Hogan's music hits and he makes his way down to the ring.

Angle says that all week long Hogan has been blowing up his phone and after 3 days of him not answering he figured Hogan would get the hint, but he just kept calling making him the same offer over and over. Angle says they have to get one thing straight, there is not one thing appealing to him about Immortal. Angle says Immortal is a bunch of butt kissers lead by the two biggest scumbags in the world. Angle says he will beat Sting at Hardcore Justice but it will be for the right reasons, for the World Title which he's in this business for. He also says that he's never beaten Sting before without outside interference and he needs to do that. Angle says he will beat Sting and when he does he will prove he is the best in the world. Angle asks Hogan if he knows how it feels to be the best in the world.

Hogan asks if that's why he brought him out here, to ask if Hogan knows what it's like to be the best. Hogan mockingly says yeah I know what it's like to be the best when there was no Stinger, no Morgan, no RVD, no Kurt Angle, no Beer Money. Angle says he even carried the business on his back and he put every small territory on his back until he turned this business into an international phenomenon. Hogan says if Angle wants to talk about a bunch of 16 year old punks buying a ticket because they want to be like him, they can cause that's why Hogan was the best. Hogan says in 1984 when Angle was still pooping in his diapers he was selling out arenas. Hogan says since they have that cleared up, the reason he was calling Angle was because he thought Angle had a vision for a higher level, one that means a lot more money in this business. He says he doesn't care what Angle is making now or what he was backing back in the day, he wants to help Angle make a lot more money now. Hulk says after that now Kurt wants to disrespect him.

Angle cuts him off and says he's not disrespecting Hogan and for the simple fact that he does respect Hogan is why he's not kicking Hogan's butt right now. Hogan laughs at that. Angle says he's not Anderson and he can't be bought. He says when he signed with Dixie Carter he promised her he would be the best wrestler in the company and he takes pride in that. Angle says he paid to see Hogan back in the day because Hogan was great and different, but now 25 years later the name Hulk Hogan brings on a whole new meaning. Angle says Hogan can't go anymore and Hogan cuts him off.

Hogan says Angle is crossing a real dangerous line right and he says if Angle is thinking he's going to climb into the ring again then he's crazy. He says he will never wrestle again. He says he had to make a choice, after 30 years of being the best in the game and after 8 back surgeries, knee replacements, and hip replacements have forced him to make a decision between life and no life and he made the choice for quality of life. Hogan says before Angle even thinks about saying something about his wife or his kids he'll prove to Angle he's no fluke. Hogan says maybe Kurt has to beat Sting the right way and he suggests that maybe Angle is training for the Olympics now is because he really didn't pin the guy in the Olympics and he feels guilty. He says maybe that was just a fluke too, but if he wants to call Hogan out and FIGHT him then he's getting real close to seeing it happen right now.

Angle says Sting was right, he lit a fire under Hogan. Angle says he does want to go back to the Olympics but it's because the older he gets the more the fire burns in him. Angle says he doesn't doubt Hogan can still go but he needs to prove it to himself. Hogan tells Kurt to just spit out what he's trying to say and stop beating around the bush. Angle says Hogan wants to pay him a bunch of money to take out Sting, why doesn't he just take Sting out himself. Angle says every great warrior has one great fight left so why doesn't he and Sting prove it. He tells Hogan not to call him again and then drops the microphone and leaves Hogan in the ring.

In the back a girl approaches Bischoff and hands him a certified letter, she says the network sent it for him.

    Winner: Rob Van Dam

Eric Bischoff is talking to Immortal in the back. Bischoff reads the letter Spike sent him and it says based on the success of Destination X, they expect them to help build and brand the X-Division and expect them to hire more X-Division stars ASAP and Bischoff reminds how Abyss was supposed to end the X-Division at Destination X. Hogan walks in and starts screaming about Angle and he says he's a dead man. Hogan says the only thing he cares about right now is eliminating Kurt Angle tonight. Bully Ray says he volunteers Anderson to do it and Anderson doesn't believe it. He asks Ray who he is to volunteer him for anything. Ray says if Anderson is afraid then Karen can take care of Kurt, but Anderson says he's not afraid of anyone. He says he will fight Kurt Angle and Hogan shakes his hand and thanks him. Bischoff continues reading the letter and it says they expect more changes and then Sting pops up out of nowhere wearing his red suit. Sting is holding something covered in a cloak. Sting greets Jarrett and hugs Karen. Sting asks Anderson if he's still pissed. Sting sits down in a chair next to Bischoff and says they'll find out what's in the box in due time. Karen calls him crazy and he thanks her.

Sting says he's always had a great relationship with the network and in the last few days it's intensified so much that they have decided to make HIM the new Network Executive for TNA. Immortal freaks out and Ray says he wears makeup. Sting says Anderson definitely is going to be in a match with Angle tonight but it will be in a Cage! Sting screams at them and says he's not done yet! Sting says Fortune will be surrounding the ring tonight just in case Immortal tries any funny business. Sting walks out with his little box in hand and Hogan tells Bischoff to call the office now.

We cut to the ring where Brian Kendrick and Alex Shelley are standing. Kendrick says something about ego and talks about cleansing Austin Aries' ego. He hands a paper and mic to Shelley. Shelley translates what he just said and he says basically what you're saying is Austin Aries is a piece of crap. Shelley says unfortunately he is a piece of crap they need to talk to and calls Aries out.

Aries comes down to the ring and grabs his own microphone. Shelley says he's going to make it short and simple and he name drops Low-Ki, Jerry Lynn, AJ, Samoa Joe, Daniels, Shelley, and Brian Kendrick as men who worked their butts off to build the X-Division. He says they put their blood, sweat, and tears in doing so and they have respected each other for it. Shelley says Aries chose not to respect that last week. He says the X-Division is about hybrid wrestling: high flying, submission, fast paced, etc. but Aries is raking backs, pulling tights, gauging eyes, and hitting people with chains. Shelley says I'm going to give you one chance to play by the rules or you don't play at all.

Aries tells the fans to hush and then he tells Kendrick it was nice of him to dress up for the occasion. He says they're trying to tell him to play by the rules or don't play at all. Aries said he played by their rules when he beat two men to qualify for Destination X and he did the same when he beat THREE guys at Destination X to win his contract, but now that he has his own contract he plays by his own rules. He says his only rule is to win at all costs. Aries says all they're trying to do is please the fans but he doesn't care about that and he has years of Match of the Year candidates and 5 star matches, but what he really wants is a 5 star bank account. Aries says he's in TNA to win matches, take Championships, and make money and he doesn't have to cheat because not only is he the greatest man to ever live but the end always justifies the mean. He says the end will mean he is the X-Division Championship.

Kendrick screams at him that he is the X-Division Champion and then rants about energy and dissolving and purifying the X-Division of Aries. He says Aries has termites in that soul. Aries asks Shelley to translate that for him. Shelley says Aries is talking about 5 star matches and he can take those 5 star matches and shove them up his butt because he ruined Shelley's Title shot. He says he could have been a 2 time X-Division Champion but that's okay because he petitioned the network. He says they have a new priority and that's pushing the X-Division. He says he gets his rematch at Hardcore Justice in a 3-Way against Kendrick and Aries for the title!

Abyss' music hits and he interrupts and asks Kendrick if he forgot about him. Abyss says Kendrick won't make it to Hardcore Justice because as much as Sting and the network think they run TNA the reality is Hogan & Bischoff still call the shots. Abyss says they have given Abyss' rematch for the belt TONIGHT! Abyss says tonight he'll do what he should have done at Destination X and take that belt and kill the X-Division once and for all! Sting shows up on the screen and interrupts Abyss.

Sting says according to the network he has more stroke than Hogan & Bischoff combined. Sting says that match with Kendrick and Abyss at Destination X was great so he wants to see it again with a few tweaks. He says we are going to find out if monsters are afraid of heights because it will be ULTIMATE X! Kendrick laughs as Abyss goes nuts.

In the back Matt Morgan says he tore his right pectoral muscle. He says he has no choice but to pull out of the tournament and he's gone 9 years without an injury and now when the Bound For Glory Series comes up and this happens. Morgan says his whole world ended when the doctor told him that he tore the muscle and he says the World Title is his world and he doesn't want it, he NEEDS it.

In the back Bully Ray is playing angry birds and says he isn't worried about Crimson. He says he's a legend while Crimson has been in the business for a cup of coffee and he'll beat Crimson when he wants to. Ray turns his attention to AJ Styles and says he'll beat AJ this Saturday night in their Bound For Glory Series Match at a Live Event in Houston. He says AJ better not have forgotten him because he's the one that beat him.
