    2014 Rookies & Stars "Crusade"

    To my fellow forum members,

    I've been out of it, or more like out to lunch and to never come back. LOL! To help with getting my spirits up, three rack packs were purchased. I have to note that 2014 Rookies & Stars is a huge improvement over 2013 Rookies & Stars. With the rich darker tone of the cards accented by the silver foil, it gives the cards a need to get a second look as it veers on the side of a very acceptable set.

    I think set collectors like RBRedskins will enjoy putting together a set of 2014 Rookies & Stars. I think the big draw here is the Crusade set. Colorful and shiny is how I can only explain what these cards do for collectors. It's one of those you either lov'em or hat'em cards, there's no in between.

    These are just some examples of the break.


    Of course I have to start with my all time favorite up and coming quarterback, Andrew Luck!

    This is the only rookie I know of at this time. I'm sure that as the NFL season gets underway, I'll be able to recognize more rookie players.

    nice cards. the crusades are great looking. even R & S base looks good. I got some as a throw in for a deal I did & was surprised at how nice they looked compared to last year.

      Yes, it's definitely a huge turn around compared to last years R&S. I'm hoping that Panini continues their quality designs in the upcoming products.

        Finally got a blaster of R&S today. I agree, very nice looking cards. Much better than Prestige. I think I must have got an "error" box. In my blaster there were 5/6 RC's per pack, 42 total. Might have to go back tomorrow and grab another with hopes the entire case was like that.

              That's what makes retail so fun, for a minimal amount of funds, collectors can get a first look of a products debut. Let's see how many boxes are left, I'll be looking forward to your breaks.

                Got the 3rd and last box yesterday. One of the RC's in each box was actually a Longevity parallel. So all told 3 Boxes had 123 RC's (instead of 24). Got a Manziel Crusade in the 3rd box. Each box also had a RC Variation. Those are 1:8 packs, so you probably have one yourself (unfortunately, based on your scan it isn't the Manziel). Check your RC's with this list: 2014 Panini Rookie & Stars Football Variations Guide

                  You did very well! I did not receive any Longevity cards nor any sp rookies. The only difference is that I have a Draft Class and a Super Bowl insert. If I see another blaster, I'll pick one up.

                    Now I am getting curious. I just picked up a couple of value packs at a WalMart this morning on the way to work. Only opened 1, but there were 12 RC's. Was expecting either 2 or 4. So I don't know what is going on. Maybe this is the norm. How many rookies did you get in your blaster? Also, you have to look close for the Longevity parallel. I didn't even notice it with the first 2 cards/boxes. Last night I only snapped to it because the card was flipped over backside in the pack so I looked a little closer.

                    Each of the 3 blasters had 1 of each: Variation, Longevity parallel, Super Bowl, Draft Class, Crusade and Rookie Crusade.

                          Then they must have changed this year. Past years it has been 1 RC/pack. But it looks like they are doing it similar to Bowman, where there are more rookies than vet per pack. Which of course means that the value will be much lower than usual. Guess I didn't get "error" boxes after all. Guess it is too late to un-buy them now. After a couple of blasters of Bowman, the BV's came out and it was very depressing. Haven't bought any Bowman since, ugly cards to boot.

                          I will let you know my needs this evening.

                            You guys have me interested in them now, gonna see if my luck rolls over from last year on the retail. I will post results tommorow night if not on saturday fella's, I am looking forward to opening a box or 2 now.

                              Just compared BV of Bowman and R&S. R&S isn't as bad as I was expecting, the lowest RC BV is $1. Meanwhile 88 out of 110 of the Bowman RC's are between $0.40 and $0.75.
