  • Another Tremendous HOF Find?????????????

Went to the local Thrift shop looking for an antique Radio which they had and i bought 1939 Atwood old round face and weights a ton but will restore it as that is my hobby since i retired from owning and operating a Salvage Business for 40 years.
So i get to talking to the owner and he says i hear thru a guy at the post office u collect Baseball Cards and stuff.
I said yes and he says would u be interested in some stuff i just found in a old foot locker which was dropped off to his store.
He has 3 thrift stores and is in the process of doing another one.
So down to the back and look for this footlocker and a thousand things on top of it and surrounding it.
But i must say the wait was worth while.
On the top of the insert in the locker for small items sits this yellow old 8x10 envelope and appond open discover these beauties and all now in hand and mine.
8x10 Kirby Puckett signed auto and an article on the reverse of the Minn Twins with Chile Davis then a Twin.
8x10 Juan Marical signed auto colored as well.
8x10 Lee Smith signed Sports Illustraed auto colored as well
Framed 6x6 Bobby Doerr/Denny Galehouse/Jimmy Foxx signed B/White and Jimmy has crossed the X;s as always
Black and Yellow HOF Plaque signed by Rube Marguard
6x6 Kodak signed P Phillies and has a bottom crease but he sig is perfect Richie ashburn.
And the next 2 are the prize of the whole find.
Signed satchel Paige Cards card and a 53 Bowman nr Mt just cornering and original card and his pre stroke and pre acident auto Roy Campanella.
Santa came early for the Old Bear this year and i have to get him some parts for his trk for all of this and that guys is not a problem to a guy who has worked on and stripped more cars trucks or anything else in my life.
Just another nice early Xmas gift.
Had to share as this has made my Xmas complete.

      Thks Tom
I have so many friends and they all keep an eye out for me and let me know where and when to find stuff.
Went to the local hardware store yesterday to get my oxb for my carpenter as i am doing my cellar over before i move so who gets my house will have a nice new redone cellar.
While there a good friend of mine was walking in and asked if i could go over to his Son;s house on the weekend after Xmas is done and take his collection off his hands as well.
He is rehabbing from shoulder surgery as i am a well.
Both my shoulders have been separated and he has one as well.
He go;s to a diffrent place for his Phy Therapy than i do so this was the first time i saw him since he went on workmen;s comp for his injury.
Know that feeling of sleepless nights and the t tremendous pain which go;s with it.

Thks and move to Maine anytime bud as there is so many places in the Summer which u can find quality stuff.
A lot of people keep their Kids and Son;s collection and just stuff them in the attic old drawers and then sell this stuff off and not remembering that the good old stuff is in there still.
A couple of years before i retired i bought a car which had been sitting in a old barn which had started to collapse from the neglect of snow on it for many years unatended.
Hauled it to my yard and started to strip it and in the back seat and trunk i came upon a mother load of old cards every set from 54 to 73 all in binders and i mean to tell u that old station wagon was worth a mint.
I got a near complete Goudey set and what i was lacking i had so i now have a complete one in the bank for the Grandkids collection.
I guess i should have looked inside he old car and would have known what i was getting.
But when u buy 5 or 6 cars a day and just take them all for granted until u start stripping them and find what u find.
Anyways all my friends keep telling me about that guy who wants me to buy his collection or get him some parts for his car or trk and i swap off alot that way even though i am retired but still have tons of contacts to keep all my friends stuff going.
