A long about 12 years ago i was into getting a lot of autographs and i had sent Ron Santo a 73 and 74 Topps cards to auto for me.
I had sent like 300 out at the time and received like 15 of the 300 ever back so i just gave up sending and getting auto;s in person at shows or at the stadium awaiting the players coming and going in the parking area before and fter games.
So today it being -12 below and a cold and blustery day and the front yard like a skating rink and not seeing or hearing from my postman figured a no show day for anything WRONG WRONG.
He came pounding at my door because the mail trk bringing the mail rolled over and the mail was extremely late.
But what i did get and it was a mailday i will long remember was this.
Fuser sent me a Triple signed game used and on the wall in my bedroom a signed W Mays/P Rose /and N Ryan framed auto;s of the 3 of them.
Also a signed 8x10 P Rose which went right into Tommy;s Collection.
But what happened next was a really shock to me and one which will be treaured the rest of my life.
Ron Santo;s Wife sent me a Donruss Greats auto Bat Jersey an numbered 23/100.
She is going thru his stuff and sending out stuff she had found from some people i guess as i had sent him a 73 and 74 Topps to sign for me.
Regardless this will be treasured for the rest of my life and it is absolutey not for trade or sale.
This is what makes the hobby to me the real people working with the real hobist in this hobby.
