We used to do alot of breaks on Topps. The most effective way we found was to randomize EVERYTHING. At first we didnt and people would argue over the "Good" teams and the "crappy" teams went unsold. Randomization is the fairest way to do it. Give the guys two weeks to trade teams if need be.

As for material to break, 08 Heroes is a pretty inexpensive break. But with many products you have to have a special catagory for multiplayer cards or a drawing for the winner between the team owners on said card.

Topps chrome, Goodwin, Platinum (hard to split prospects) are all fun products. You also have to consider non sport cards within the baseball boxes. IE presidents, Fashionable ladies etc...

With a little preperation, we could have many sucessful breaks here. Oh, Id be interested in some. Dave

You could model a break along these lines: This is just an example.

4 box break 08 heroes, 09 Topps series 1, 07 Artifacts, 07 SP authentic.....

You Randomize the teams and you randomize the participants.

Any cards that do not fall into a single team catagory are to be entered into a raffle. You get one raffle spot for each team you buy.

Any card featuring two or more different teams would be settled between the owners of the teams represented on the card(s)

For example, an 08 heroes card featuring three yankee swatches would go to the person who had the Yankees. But, if a dual gu was pulled with Ripken and Gwynn, the card would be setteled between the owners of the Padres and the Orioles. If a triple gu with three different teams were pulled it would be setteled between the owners of said three teams.

To settle it, you could simply put the three owners names in a hat and presto you pick the winner out of the hat.

If a card had two Yankees and one Red. the owner of the Yankees would get his name in the hat twice and the reds owner once.

All raffeled cards would be raffeled one at a time. All names go into the hat. After each card is rewarded that persons name stays out of the hat until all participants have been drawn for a card. If there are more cards, put the names back in and continue to draw.

To come up with a price, add the boxes up, divide buy number of participants. Add 4.00 to each lot for supplies and shipping.

I do not reccomend that the person doing the break is allowed to be in the break. That way, nobody can cry foul!!!


You can video the break but guys mike me cant see that so you can post a box pack by pack rundown of cards pulled.

Everything is written up. I'm having an issue picking out a product, all that have stated interest I need some sort of agreement between everyone, unless you guys just want me to choose a random case.

I would suggest a cheap case for the first one.

Blowout has a 6 box hobby jumbo case of 10 topps update for 309.00 That would keep cost down. But, Im game for almost anything. Even a 6 random box break.

They also have a 10 box 2011 lineage case for 495.00. If we cant agree on a case, there is a wide selection of boxes for a good price. Dave

I agree. If he can find a case. Other sites, they were breaking massive amounts of that stuff. It sucks that Topps is the only (certified) game left in town.
