  • 2010 Triple Threads Bob Gibson #1/3 manufacturer ERROR....No auto!!! .....suggestions

So, on another post yesterday I posted this card to see if I could sell it to get some quick funds to pay for some auctions I won on the Bay......thanks to the keen eye of Mike (cornwellfamily), it's come to my attention that this card is supposed to be an "autograph game used relic". What?!?! That would increase the value significantly, especially being a 1/3.
    See below:

    and the back

So, Ive already sent a message thru Topps.com (no telling how long that response will take) and Ive attempted to call them (customer relations @ 1-800-489-9149) but they had an hour + wait time, Im at work, I could wait that long....I'll try again later.

My question to all of you is what do you think Topps will do to correct this production error? anything?
Any experience in dealing with Topps with an older card that was missing an auto?

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thx!

    Todd good luck bud.
Wish u the best as I just went around in circles with them on a redemption I have not received in over a year and a half and a card damaged I sent in to be replaced with a note stating we will not be able to replace the auto or the damaged card as they where not out of 2013 product.
So they sent me a few packs and a scrub game used of some potential rookie prospect.

Todd, very doubtful they will do anything for you. Being a sticker Auto, they'll argue that the sticker was removed post-production because with only 3 issued, it would have been caught plus the 3 years that have passed since it was issued.... Did you buy or trade for that card? If so, its a real possibility that the former owner received compensation from Topps, if indeed it was their error.I don't think the missing Auto increases the value, if anything, it may make it worthless.

Good points....after some research I'm leaning more towards I'm out of luck as far as getting an auto put on or getting a replacement, and your right, someone may have already gotten replacement for it back in 2010.
I got this one from eBay for a fair price, so I wouldn't want to put my foot in my mouth and say I pulled it (to Topps) then they turn around and tell me its already been redeemed or upgraded.

I agree it doesn't make it more valuable as an "error" card, but I definetly don't think it make it worthless. I'm treating it like a non-auto version, numbered to /3. I don't see ANY surface flaws where the sticker was, so I'm betting it got left off during production.....in fact, the whole card is in pristine condition, which is cool.

        Thx for the opinions all!

Now, who wants to buy it!?!?!......lol. I still need some Paypal funds to pay for my latest EBay purchase (bills are tight this week, so using the account is out of the question)

        Any offers?
