Welcome to CCW Basketball Theme Weeks!! We are still in the experimental stages of this contest, so this particular iteration will run from the week of January 2nd 2011 to the last week of the playoffs, spanning about 25-26 weeks. The synopsis of the contest is right here:
Each week a theme is chosen, and members have to post a scan of a card that shows the theme, along with username, date, and theme on a slip of paper in the scan as well. Once the week closes, another theme is chosen for the next week, and voting for the best card from the previous week begins. Once THAT week closes, voting from the first week closes and a winner is declared, then voting starts for the next week. rinse & repeat.
We keep running tally of the winners through the season, and whoever gets the. most wins get a prize.
So it's a fun contest where showing off your collection is the main goal.
We have many theme ideas lined up already, but can always use more suggestions, especially since we plan to roll this contest out to coincide with the entire NBA season next year.
A couple rules to follow:
1. The deadline for posting cards up for any particular week will be 12:00 EST of that week's sunday.
2. When the voting portion of a certain week takes place, no vote soliciting will be allowed. Putting a link to the contest in your signature, or posting on the voting thread is tolerated, but asking for votes via PM or threads other than the voting thread is prohibited.
3. Remember, when you take a picture of your card(s), make to include a slip of paper that has your username, date photo was taken, and the theme of the week. We need this for organizational purposes. Feel free to write or draw anything on the paper slip to promote your card, as long as it isn't derogatory.
