Topps Chrome 60th Anniverary boxes

    Topps Chrome 60th Anniverary boxes

    Anybody buy one of these yet?

    Saw them at WalMart today. $34.98: 14 packs of chrome, 1 60th Anniversary Rookie Relic (in pack) and pack of 10 60th Anniversary Rookies.

    Went in thinking pretty good deal since the blasters are 7 packs and 1 pack purple (Target) or 1 pack with a Relic (WalMart). Figured it was equivalent of buying 2 blasters (14 packs of chrome total) with the relic and 60th rookies being similar to the extra pack in the blasters, at a lower price.

    Anyways, very disappointed. For the 7 packs in the blasters (28 cards), I average about 18-20 base/rc and 8-10 inserts. Well pack #1 of this box had a pink refractor and the remaining 13 packs had nothing but base/rc. Unless I just had terrible luck, I am guessing that Topps must have base/rc packs (with no inserts) for packaging these boxes, with a pack containing an insert thrown in.

    Just wondering if anybody has bought one of these yet and had the same experience.

    If you are one of many that build the parallel refractor sets thinking this is a good bargain, stay with the blasters.

    they are all like that, I have talked with several others that have tried them and we all just got the 1 insert refractor and nothing else in the packs

      same here. I've bought 2 and will not touch another one.
      Looking for HOF-Old School Player Patch/Autos or Autos.

          Rob I have seen these posted on blowout and they all are like that. Have seen a couple produce a nice auto but they seem to be few and far between.
          Looking for Kenny Irons, Margus Hunt, AJ Green, Gio Bernard, Andy Dalton and Jeremy Hill.

            Yeah I've seen a few really nice hits come out of these but the odds are rare. For $35 I'd stay away.

              Yup, bad news on them for the most part, looks like Topps took a page from Paynini's playbook of bad decisions!
              Collecting Bears, current, and past greats, also picking up Lions, Vikings and set needs.

                I bought 3 boxes and I hit a Short Print Variation in 2 of them and a numbered refractor in the 3rd .... But that was it from the 14 pack part of the box ..... not a very good value In My Opinion.

                I collect ALL Certified Autos of Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks.
                I would also consider Game Used or VERY LOW PRINT RUN Inserts of Seattle!
