it was an uninspired blaster box, but the set is nicely designed, so i figure ill try and make a run at it

Not the best blaster I've seen. Was it from Target, by any chance? Apparently, the buybacks are only coming out of Target blasters. I don't see the point of putting useless base cards in a product. Previous years they were auto'd.

Yup- target blaster- and I dont understand the base buyback thing either- and with all the COAs circling around, it wont take long before people start using them with fake autos to sell them as buybacks...it wasnt well thought out by UD, thats for sure

If I had to guess, they probably had it in mind that these were gonna be auto'd, and inserted in packs, but it never happened, so they just stuffed these cards in packs anyways.

I'm gonna put together the set, so I'm keeping these ones. If I get any doubles, I'll give you a holler. At least I have 3 of the bigger ones out of the way. Eberle is another biggie on the list.
