Fairly new collector so looking for info on the best way to get cheap cards of retired players. For example, I can get an Adam Foote card 2010-2011 O-Pee-Chee #156 card for like 25 cents which is great but this doesn't actually show the stats from his last NHL season (10/11)...it actually shows the stats from his 2nd last season (09-10) and the same for Modano or Recchi, etc.
I know cards of retired players like Gretzky or Orr are produced all the time but what about guys like Foote or McCabe etc? Should I wait for a post-retirement card of them to be released and is it a certain set I should go for?
O-Pee-Chee includes a lot of these cards of old guys but I'd prefer a different set since I like glossy type cards and not the more retro feeling OPC ones.
