It's crazy to say Mears was never in a good situation (since he's been at Hendrick/Childress), but he never really had a full year with the same team/crew chief his entire career once he left Ganassi. I wish someone would give him a decent ride and more than 20 races to see what they can do, but I don't ever see it happening again.
Now that he's with basically a start & park team (#13 car), I'd like to see someone give him a full-time Nationwide ride, kinda like Sadler got. Maybe try and revive his career.

Sent an SASE a year and a half ago to Andretti Autosport hoping to get an autographed hero card of my favorite IRL driver Tony Kanaan. In 2011 he switched to Lotus Racing, so I just assumed I'd never get a postcard back.
Surprised when this came in today from Lotus (how the hell did it get there? lol)
And they also added in a hero card of his teammate for good measure.

The ironic thing is that the hero card is a 2008 also. Maybe Kyle signed it in '08 and it got lost in the shop for FOUR years? lol
