Yes, I always send a letter. In it I mention something memorable about the player - stats, accomplishments, records, etc. I then mention that I collect autos, and ask him to sign the items I enclosed. I make sure to thank him as well.
Even though many of my returns lately have come back in a very short time, one must be patient with this hobby as some don't come back for many months, and I've even seen some come back after several years. Have fun.

Thanks bud. Got really lucky with Derek Lowe, and it came back in a couple of weeks. I sent him a nice letter, and gave him a link to my photobucket to show him all I collect. Not that he looks at it, but thought it was nice to show them that I am not blowing smoke. Ya know? Anyway, thanks again.

What do you send for return when you send to Canada? Had one set up, but not sure what to do about the return envelope.

I live in Canada so I'm not what you mean. Are you sending from USA to Canada?

Yeah, I live in USA. So, wasn't sure what your thoughts would be on sending something SASE to one of them. Can I just put on some stamps, and it will be okay? Or do I need to do something special?

You should put stamps on the SASE, but make sure they're Canadian stamps.
