  • A couple thoughts/questions about unopened wax.....

In my Christmas Haul this year was a shoe box full of unopened wax packs. Nothing major as far as the years of the packs, however the thought of "Would these be worth something in 20 years as they would potentially then be considered vintage.?.?."

I'm in no means eager to bust these open as I currently have completed sets of all of these packs, but I'm excited on the idea of them becoming a "rarer" item over the years.

Here's a list of the packs.....

    1987 Topps - 3 Packs

    1988 Donruss - 5 Packs
    1988 Fleer - 1 Pack
    1988 Score - 1 Pack
    1988 Topps - 2 Packs
    1988 Topps Big - 1 Pack
    1988 Topps Jumbo - 1 Pack
1988 Topps Major League Leaders - 1 Pack

    1989 Bowman - 1 Pack
    1989 Donruss - 3 Packs
    1989 Fleer - 3 Packs
    1989 Score - 2 Packs
    1989 Topps - 5 Packs

    1990 Donruss - 5 Packs
    1990 Fleer - 6 Packs
    1990 Score - 2 Packs
    1990 Topps - 2 Packs
    1990 Upper Deck - 7 Packs

    1991 Donruss - 2 Packs
    1991 Fleer - 1 Pack
    1991 Leaf Series 1 - 1 Pack
    1991 Score - 3 Packs
    1991 Stadium Club Series 1 - 1 Pack
    1991 Topps - 1 Pack
    1991 Topps Jumbo - 1 Pack
    1991 Ultra - 2 Packs
    1991 Upper Deck - 5 Packs

    1992 Stadium Club Series 1 - 1 Pack
    1992 Topps - 1 Pack
    1992 Topps OPeeChee - 1 Pack
1992 Upper Deck High Series - 1 Pack

    1993 Stadium Club Series 2 - 1 Pack
    1993 Topps Series 2 - 1 Pack

I've accumulated some other various non-sport sealed packs over the years too....

    1975 Topps - Good Times - 1 Pack
    1976 Topps - Happy Days - 1 Pack
    1978 Topps - Jaws 2 - 1 Pack
    1979 Topps - Alien - 1 Pack
1982 Topps - Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark - 2 Packs
    1983 Topps - Jaws 3D - 1 Pack
    1984 Topps - Indiana Jones - 1 Pack
    1985 Topps - Rambo - 1 Pack

the non sport stuff probably has more appeal than the sports stuff- ive seen most of those packs at shows for .25 each or so. i guess they will technically only get harder to find, but if no one is looking for them...

Between the late '80's through the mid '90's there was definitely over production. There are very few really valuable cards to be found in the base products (Topps,Fleer,Donruss,Score, & Bowman especially). I haven't been to a card show lately. However, the last time I went they were selling boxes of this stuff, unopened, for between $5 to $10 a box.

The main items Im looking to trade for are
            Baseball HOFers Autos I need
            Orioles Autos I need
            Baseball HOFers GU I need
            Orioles GU I need
            Vintage Orioles I need 1950s through 1970
However other offers will be considered
