  • 2011 Bowman Platinum Sneak Peek

Topps has released preliminary product information and images from its 2011 Bowman Platinum issue, set to hit store shelves just six months after last year’s debut model was released.

This year’s cards are again heavy on prospects and young stars.* Topps promises this year’s boxes will include two prospect autographs and one autograph relic.* Each six-box case will cough up one multi-autograph card and one on-card autograph redemption featuring a player from Team USA.

Dealer costs are expected to be around $70 per box, which seems to be in line with the 2010 issue.

The base set will include 100 veterans and rookies, with gold, emerald and ruby parallels.* There will be a set of 100 prospects as well.

Big hits in the 2011 Bowman product will feature multi-autograph cards that will break out as duals (two prospect autos), triples (prospects and veterans) and hexagraph booklets which feature six autographs.* The hexagraphs will also have a patch version.* One of the multi-auto cards will be a Stephen Strasburg/Ryan Zimmerman/Bryce Harper triple auto that will likely be among the most sought after cards.

Each pack will have four platinum cards and one Chrome prospect.

New this year are gold refractors and X-factor parallels.
