  • 2013 USA Baseball Champions Retail Break

Well, they sat there on the Walmart shelf. And I knew better. But I did it anyway. And I did way better, oddly enough, on retail as opposed to hobby with this product. Keep in mind that retail only guarantees one auto and two gu.
    BOX 1:

    and BOX 2:

Oh, and some Series 2 brought a pink card.

So, the two autos numbered to 25 and getting three relics in each box, well, it was a lot more than I really expected. The one hobby box I broke delivered three autos and three relics, but they were all numbered pretty high. I got about the same amount of mirror parallels per box and the one high numbered auto I got was at least someone that has World Series Rings. I don't think this happens very often, typically hobby boxes are SUPPOSED to deliver over retail, and outside of Prizm, I won't buy Retail Panini, but this was a pretty good day for a guy with no LCS. And yeah, the first box wasn't exactly stellar, but the Damon books at $15, and I'll take that over 2 autos that book at $8 any day. And, most importantly, my set is complete, and I got some nice adds to my USA PC. Oh, and the pink card. I get the cause, I really do, and I support it, I really do, but is there maybe, I dunno, a more subtle way of doing this parallel? I guess pink is pink.

Looks like you did well. I agree on the pink. Wonder why they couldn't do just a normal card with maybe the breast cancer awareness ribbon on there? Or realistically, why not colon cancer awareness cards? After all, I'll bet that the majority of collectors are men.

Thanks, Jerry, feel like I did pretty well. I'm with you, the colon cancer thing would be more appropriate. Not real sure how the peeps at Topps would feel about doing a brown parallel though, lol.

Nice breaks. Its unfortunate that the USA stuff doesn't book higher. Your two retail were better than the Hobby Boxes I busted all together. I'm interested in the Biggio if it is FT

Lee- Yeah, the price point keeps it low on the books I think. Which is good for the little USA PC I have going, but not real great from a trade/sell standpoint. So it's pretty cool to be able to score some clean, low numbered autos to throw in there at a lower wax cost. The Biggio is available, I also have the regular certified Biggio #d to 299 if you're interested.

                      Not too far off bud.

Nothing else, huh? Man I would have given you all of this stuff for the Fisk Threads Auto and the Damon Auto.

I would like to wait to make sure that I have all of these in hand first. That okay if I pull the stuff tonight and post it up when I have it all pulled an in hand?

But yeah, I am good with it as long as I make sure I have it all. I don't do the USA thing much really. Have had a lot of these for a while. The 2010 stuff I bought to try for the Red Sox in there. Got a few nice ones too. A Swihart Auto and a nice Barnes Triple GU. Was happy with that. And the Champions stuff I was in a break and this was non-Red Sox stuff I ended up with.

Cool man, thanks. Will post it up when I have it all in hand. If I am missing something I will ping you and hopefully we can work something out.

Nice hits on the Swihart and Barnes! Yeah, I haven't bought in on any breaks, really wish I had gotten in on a break of last year's, Panini did a great job with that product: no extra base, quality hits, and I really like the design. This year's product, well, it's a bit confusing. Two cards from the base set weren't made, a lot of players have two cards in the base set, and in some instances, the same card has two different card numbers, like Griffey's card. Weird. Right, back to the deal, sure thing, let me know if you're missing anything and we can go from there, bud.
