  • Losing Custody of My Baby

I have less than one week left with my baby. She'll be in good hands at my parent's house in Las Vegas where I'll be allowed to visit her whenever I want.

The fact is... I just don't have the space in my townhouse for my thirty-nine year old beauty. However the warm, dry air of Las Vegas will protect her and keep her safe. And seriously... what 660 card set wouldn't want to be surrounded by golf courses and beautiful scenery?

But before she leaves me, I made sure to spend as much quality time as I could with her during the past couple of months. I even purchased her a nice binder and a bunch of 9-pocket pages to keep her safe and warm.

I also took plenty of scans, so I can see her whenever I want. And tonight, I'm going to show off a few of my favorites.

My girl's design is iconic... but the one downside (at least for me) is the photography. She's littered with portrait and staged action shots. Now this might be your cup of tea, but I'm all about the well cropped "action" shot.

So without further adieu... here are myfavorite "action" shots from my1975 Topps Miniset:

    1975 Topps Mini #550

Up first is the Road Runner doing what he did best... hit.

Next are a pair of post-season highlight cards featuring the World Champion Oakland Athletics:

    1975 Topps Minis #459 and #463

The problem with the Swingin' A's is that everyone had mustaches. Obviously that's Brooks Robinsonsliding... but who the heck is turnin' two?Dick Green?Ted Kubiak? One thing is certain... that's Rollie on the right.

Speaking of mustaches... even these two guys had them as well:

    1975 Topps Minis #185 and #430

The photography on both of these cards is amazing: well-centered, awesome action, and all limbs are intact.

And finally the pièce de résistance:

    1975 Topps Mini #625

This card is amazing. It's as if Boog is calling out to the Cardboard Gods. If I had to pick a favorite card from this set... this would be it. In fact, I might need to buy a copy for the vintage binder I keep at home. That way I can actually pick it up and hold her whenever I want.

As for the rest of my set... I'll miss you. But don't worry. I'll make sure to visit you a few times each year.

    Happy Monday and sayonara!
