  • Super Bowl XXV: Commemorative Hologram Ticket

One of the most treasured items in my sports memorabilia collection is this Super Bowl XXV Commemorative Hologram Ticket. There are a number of conflicting stories of where these tickets actually came from. I do know that they're limited and pop up on e-marketplaces from time-to-time. All of these commemorative tickets are encased in the thick Lucite cases seen in the scan. Also, the commemorative tickets all have the same seat numbers printed on them. They are not actual used ticket stubs. As you can see, the ticket is intact. Most dealers have told me a similar story that these encased tickets were included in VIP/Media gift bags for those who attended Super Bowl XXV.

It's an item that I chased down for quite awhile before I was able to add it to my collection. Unfortunately, the history behind the item is not as fondly thought of as the item itself. This was the "Wide-Right" Super Bowl, and the first of four straight losses for the Buffalo Bills. As difficult as it is to relive those losses, I do look back with joy as those were the glory years for the Bills. Especially taking into account the past decade over here in Bills Country. It's not too often that a piece of memorabilia can be so bittersweet, but this gorgeous looking ticket represents the best and worst of times for Buffalo Bills fans like me. The sobering thought, I wouldn't change a thing.
