  • I'm the April Fool!

I started this blog to share my hobby experiences... both good and bad. Today's post involves the latter.

It's pretty simple. I'm the eBay idiot who sometimes forgets to read the whole product description. And as a result... sometimes I end up paying for it. Need proof?

    Sit back and enjoy...

In October of 2011, I thought I hit the jackpot when I won an eBay auction for a box of 1992 GameDay football cards for $.99 + $4 shipping. Not bad, right?

Too bad I failed to read the product description and wound up purchasing an EMPTY box of 1992 GameDay football cards for $4.99.

In June of 2012, I thought I was buying hand drawn Star Warssketch cards.

Unfortunately, I didn't read this description carefully either. I wound up purchasing COLOREDCOPIES of Star Warssketch cards.

Which brings me to my latest, but not necessarily greatest eBay purchase.

During the WBC tournament, I desperately wanted to add a Kenta Maeda card to my collection, so I headed over to eBay and found the card pictured below:

I liked the action shot and simple card design, so I offered the guy $10 for two cards without bothering to read the product's description.

When I received the cards on Saturday, I noticed this...

Which led me to look at the original eBay post, where I read this...

Yup... a 2013 Broder card. Lol. I'm such an eBay idiot. Oh well. At least it's got a nice design and the quality is pretty decent. It looks pretty nice in my Japanese Player PCbinder.

    Happy Tuesday and sayonara!

The Gameday box sounds like a classic ebay scam. I saw an episode of Judge Judy(don't comment) where the plaintiff had purchased thousands of dollars worth of Apple products from the defendant and had received a computer printout of the products instead of the actual electronics. The defendant argued that that was what the plaintiff had paid for. Needless to say, it didn't go well for the defendant.

I don't buy from ebay anymore after purchasing an Albert Pujols RC Auto for $4500 only to receive a Winnie The Pooh signed card. Took ebay 2 minutes to take my money but 6 months to return it, minus their absorbent fees of course. No thanks.
