Before I start, I would like to say; "Please except my apologies, before hand, in no means am I trying to be disrespectful nor create any ill feelings". This is just a simple experience and exercise that I can relate to. And I would like to share.
Many of you now know of my situation.
Allow me to share a story with my fellow members. One of my many skills and loves was playing jazz. My dad supported the whole family as a musician, and did it very successfully. It was no surprise that those who knew my family, that I would follow in my fathers footsteps. I started to play the trumpet like my dad at five years old. By the age of eight, my father gave me formal lessons in classical music to create a strong musical foundation. By thirteen I played in my first professional job. During this period I also played in the school band. Every one of my school band teachers commented; "I have the worst tone (Sound) they've ever heard"! This was very upsetting for me! When I approached my father about this issue, he said; "Don't worry about what other teachers say, you don't want to sound like everyone else. Create your own unique sound." Needless to say, through hard work, sacrifice, and discipline I traveled the world and played with musicians that were my idols in my youth.
I see a parallel between my musical career and Tim Tebows. Like Tebow, I might not have had a strong sense on fundamentals. I lacked the traditional sound expected from a trumpet player. But what weaknesses I had, I overcame all my obstacles via dedication, hard work (At times, extremely harder than my peers), a sense of direction, and the belief in myself that I can do anything. Tebow might not be a "A typical Quarterback" nor have the fundamentals needed to play at the NFL level. But, I've noticed he is a very determined young man and an extremely hard worker. His beliefs as a Christian drives him to overcome all obstacles. Understand that due to my weaknesses, my hardwork at times seemed futile!
This situation will be fun just to watch. Hate him or love him, it matters not! Will Tom Brady be replaced by Tebow? Huh! Ya right! The Patriots are one of the top three teams in the NFL. Tebow is in a good situation, and its now up to him to become successful while tutoring with one of the best Quartebacks in the NFL, and being led by one of the best Coaches in the NFL. Time will tell. I believe that the US of A is the land of second chances. This is his chance to shine or fail. I wish Tebow the best of luck!
