  • Sport Card Collecting Supplies

I have a question to forum members. Since December of 2012, Toshi has only purchased "Ultra-Pro Sports Card Collecting Supplies" as that is what's available at Walmart and our LCS. I intend to purchase collecting supplies for him online as this is a extremely convenient scenario for him. After pricing out Dacradworld, DCS, Blowout, Steel City, Hooked on Cards, and a few more card shops, I have found that BCW.com is the best in cost per product (Especially in bulk) and variety. It also offers free shipping.

Here's my caveat, Toshi has never purchased "BCW Sports Card Collecting Supplies". I can only assume that when forum members read this thread and leaves a comment, the answers I'll be reading will mirror; "They are both excellent products and that there are really no differences between Ultra-Pro and BCW. Like collecting cards, collecting supplies are a choice of the collector. There are no differences and no issues with good supplies and bad supplies".

If you disagree with my assumption, please tell me why? If no one leaves a comment? Then I will know that my statement above is a true fact. FYI, this is not Toshi writing this as he is not feeling well. This is Mrs. Toshi, I can use all the help possible as Toshi normally handles the purchasing of card collecting supplies.

Thank you so much in advance,

    Mrs. Toshi

I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.

IMO, they are both on even par for the purpose they serve. Ultra-Pro brand name is more known and has a greater footprint in hobby shops and stores. I value collecting supplies like trash bags. Meaning I will opt for an off brand or generic instead of the Hefty brand name based solely on cost when available. Again BCW and UltraP product quality, features and benefits are basically the same.

I Collect mid-high end sportcards, RCs, HOFer Autos

I buy the majority of my stuff from BCW. I am focusing on my cards in pennies/toploaders/team bags right now. I like the one screw downs, but they take up a lot of space, and I have heard a lot prefer the other method of storage. The problem, they don't fit perfectly in the shoeboxes. Oh well. I will have a lot more room when transitioned over. And yeah, I use the off brand on stuff, and have never had an issue with it.

Collecting any Boston Sports (base, insert,GU,Auto) All Teams (Red Sox,Celtics,Patriots,Bruins)
        Also collect UNH Football/Hockey cards
Also now collecting any cards including all dupes of all the following :
MLB : Brian Wilson (Giants, Dodgers), Chris Carpenter (Blue Jays, Cardinals), Sam Fuld (Rays), Mike Flanagan (Orioles, Blue Jays), Phil Plantier (Padres, Red Sox), Jeff Locke (Pirates)
NFL : Kendall Reyes (Chargers), Greg Landry (Lions), David Ball (Bears), Jerry Azumah (Bears), Dwayne Sabb (Patriots), Dan Kreider (Steelers), Ricky Santos (no pro cards)
        NBA : Matt Bonner (Spurs)
NHL : Steve Leach, James VanRiemsDyk, Jason Krog, Eric Boguniecki, Andy Brickley, Ty Conklin, Kevin Dean, Rod Langway, Bryan Muir, Daniel Winnik
I unfortunately can no longer afford to trade outside the US. Even rates to Canada are way too high now!

Thank you so much for your input. Toshi does nothing but rave about you on a daily basis. I want to thank you for taking care of my husband. If there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask me.

          Yours Truly,

          Mrs. Toshi
