Following the "Yellow Brick Road"!

It's been so long since I've been to our card shop here in Streetsboro, I almost forgot where they were located. Mrs. Toshi was my Dorthy, and she led me along the "Yellow Brick Road" to the wonderful land of "OZ". That would make me the Scarecrow of whom had no brain. LOL!

We are located in North East Ohio. Our weather can be 90 degrees with 100% humidity in the morning. Then we could see rain, hail, sleet, snow, blizzard, tornado, and tropical temperatures all in a 12 hour period. I am not exaggerating! So it comes at a huge and wonderful surprise that for the last couple of days it's been sunny and breezy with 70 degree temps here.

Although I did not take advantage of this, going to therapy doesn't count, I finally felt good enough today with a great deal of assistance from Mrs. Toshi, that I could make it to Collectors Palace. Once there, I was viewed as "Lazarus"! Well, that might be a exaggeration, but it definitely felt that way. Just imagine, I would be there two to three times a week. On some occasions I would make a small purchase here or there. On occasions of a new debut product, Mrs. Toshi would allow me to pick up a hobby box or two. Many a times I visited just to share my hits with the proprietor and discuss our love of collecting. What's unique at Collectors Palace is the fact that they not only sell sports cards and non-sports cards, they also have a huge collection of comic books, jewelry, rare and precious coins, (Some coins are certified "Obverse Proof 70 99.99% Gold Cameo Coins at $3,000.00. One of my collecting goals is to purchase a "Obverse Proof 70 Platinum Cameo Coin. The platinum coins are much more of a rare collectible and are in general going for a starting price of $2,000.00 to $10,000.00.) old vintage toys, and one of my favorites, watches! I'm not a Rolex man. I'm a devout and practicing Breitling man! Mrs. Toshi bought me my very first Breitling in 1993 in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was a Colt Chronograph. The watch cost us $1,500.00 and did not come with a wrist band. You need to purchase that separately. The band of my choice was a Surgical Stainless Steel model that cost us $700.00. Today, this very watch that has been through hell and back, and still keeps time perfectly, will cost an upwards of $3,000.00. That's what's nice about Breitling's and of course Rolex watches.

My joy of visiting Collectors Palace is in browsing the many rare comic books, coins, and jewelry. The jewelry and coin part is a Mrs. Toshi exclusive. Today's visit consisted of Mrs. Toshi purchasing a variety of a few packs that included 2013 Topps Platinum, 2013 Topps Finest, and 2013 Panini Momentum. As for me? I headed to the mix menagerie of cards in a shoebox. As I mentioned, it's been awhile since my last visit, so I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. I picked out 10 cards for $1.00 and got a deal on Snap Tight 35pt. card holders? I have never purchased these before, I think they are great, especially at 5 for $1.00. Anyway, it was my time to leave as I became incredibly fatigued which tells me I'm not at 100% in my recovery. So Mrs. Toshi and I clicked our heals three times and included our mantra; "There's No Place Like Home"!

Glad you were able to travel out and make the stop. Nice scores, but do not, I repeat DO NOT store anything in those snap tights. There corners are not square, thus will cause rounding of the corner on your cards. Way too many sellers will ship in those things and ruin the cards.

Thank you for the information. I did not realize that the corners of the snap tights were not designed with the industry standard "Diamond Cut Corner" that is prevalent in products like BCW and All Pro. I'll use these for my inexpensive cards that are in the $0.10 range and although their value is limited, it is cards that I enjoy on a personal stand point. I assume the snap tights offer better protection than placing these cards in only a penny sleeve. I'm very fortunate to have wonderful forum members that looks out for me in such ways! Thank you!
