  • My Mailday from Schwood

    To my fellow members,

I feel so lucky in this point in life to be able to enjoy a hobby and be part of such a phenominal group of individuals! I always look forward to what each morning brings in this universe as well as the microcosm of our lives. All we can do is our best, and do the right thing. I teach my children that we all know what is right and wrong. There are no gray areas here. It's our choice. Do what your heart tells you to!

I've been sick for approximately three weeks. I have finally got my strength back. Recently while watching a NFL game I noticed the pink worn by players and knew immediately of this months breast cancer awareness. So to my surprise, during Mrs. Toshi's mammogram, something that was not good that should not be there showed up. At first I cried; "Why? One thing after another". Anger, fright, sadness, helplessness, and emptiness overwhelmed me like a huge wave all at once.

Mrs. Toshi is so tough, she's having surgery soon, I have no words to explain her determination. She told me not to worry. If everything turns out fine? Then that's that. If not? There's nothing I can do but to continue on and truly enjoy each day. For her sake and the sake of my two adult children, I made a promise to myself to keep Mrs. Toshi's strength and to follow her example.

I then received a package from Schwood, this was a big package! I couldn't believe what this was about. I knew he said he was sending something, but since my injury, my memory is shot. Mrs. Toshi said don't blame the accident, I'm just an old man! LOL. I was so excited that I cried tears of joy. It was a complete set of 2013 Topps Platinum Decoy Cards Sapphire Parallel Veteran set. My very first hobby pack was a purchase Mrs. Toshi made for me which was a 2012 Topps Platinum. This set is my first Platinum complete veteran set. I'm overjoyed.

I understand Mrs. Toshi! You see, expending unnecessary energy on emotions changes nothing, forging ahead and doing the right and smart thing is the key to life. To live life to its fullest.

"You Never Know What's Right Around the Corner"

You never know what's right around the corner, it could be good or bad but don't be sad. Each day you do your best, because it's just a simple test. The ups and downs are life's roller coaster ride, just hang on and and have some fun. Because, you never know what's right around the corner as my day was made good with this gift from Schwood!

    Toshi

I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.

Glad the cards made it there safely and that you enjoyed them that much.

And yes, I do use a lot of tape when packing things up. It is scotch tape. The easy kind to rip with a fingernail. So, no worries!

The tape was not an issue at all, it was very easy to remove. Brett my daughters boyfriend will stop by soon to view this wonderful gift from you. He's as excited for me as I am. Thank you for the prayers!
