13 Totally Certified - 13 Upper Deck Ultimate - 13 Elite

So, I was out running errands today, and it brought me near my LCS (local comic shop, I wish it was a card shop!). I needed some penny sleeves and some top loaders so I made a quick run inside, and I found that all of the sports cards were taken down! As it turns out, the store was getting new shelving units and cases, and wanted to clear out some inventory. Even though I already had my top loaders and penny sleeves in hand, and I have already swore off 2013 products, I looked at what they had left for sale.

Thats when I saw it.

2013 Totally Certified box, sealed, $60. Upper Deck Ultimate Collection, $40. Totally certified is normally over $100, and Upper Deck Ultimate Collection is usually a $70-$80 pack/box… So, I did what any self respecting collector did, and snagged them right up! On the way to the checkout, I noticed 5 packs of '13 Elite sitting there, at $3 a pack, about 50% off, so I grabbed those too.

Was this find a deal for good old drubacca117? I'll let you be the judge…

I was floored! First, my box of Totally Certified nets me 3 PC hits, plus a Dez Bryant numbered to 25. Then, my Upper Deck Ultimate Collection nets me 3 really nice cards. Finally, those packs of Elite let me pull my first 1/1 that I actually pulled! And it was in the last pack of the box! To say that I am stoked would be a massive understatement!!!

Anyway, thanks for reading, I just wanted to share!

WOW!!!! Fantastic pulls, especially the 1/1 Plate. The Teddy Bruschi is a phenominal card. Low numbered and a 3 color patch.

Thanks buddy! I really did not expect hits quite this good! I got a few nice inserts in the Elite packs, but I thought those were a bust until that final pack, which was the last in the box. The Upper Deck box more than paid for itself with the hits, but it is one of those products that only has four cards in a box.

I was also really surprised with the Totally Certified box. Not only did I get good hits (in my opinion anyway), but there is also an insert set that features players from Thanksgiving Day games. These cards highlight HOF players and todays greats on really nice looking cards like this (it's hard to tell, but they are metallic foil cards that have texture to them and a little shiny)…



I didn't think there was anything special about this set, until I noticed that the green Andre Johnson is actually numbered 5/5! So, I looked up some of the cards, and a few of them have BV's rivaling the colored refractors from Topps products!
