  • Crazy or What and Received Redemption

    To my fellow forum members,

What a crazy week it has been. From record breaking snowstorms to power outages throughout the US. What was the biggest impact was not being able to log in to CCW!!!!!!!

Mrs. Toshi finally helped me to log in. She was ready to shoot me, run me over with our Kia van, cut me up to little pieces, and burn what's left. I was going through CCW withdrawals which made me an extremely old Japanese pain in the a** man.

I received a redemption two days ago from Topps. I'm still waiting on a 2012 Topps Contenders Rookie Auto Derek Wolfe redemption. I'm also awaiting two redemptions from Panini, 2012 Panini Black Rookie Auto Matt Kalil and Mrs. Toshi's big hit of a 2012 Panini Totally Certified Red Auto Jersey Russell Wilson. Without question, as these redemptions are honored, I will post these cards via "Showcase".

I am in love with Panini's customer service. Their online staff punctually answers any questions and concerns. When a redemption from Panini is mailed to collectors, they immediately send you an email notification. With Topps, I found a envelope and that was that. Please don't come to a conclusion that I am pro-Panini and anti-Topps. Like everything in life, you'll get salt and pepper. Ocaisionally, both salt and pepper will be mixed. I love Topps Chrome, Triple Threads, and my all time favorite Topps product, Platinum! Platinum was my very first hobby pack purchased by Mrs. Toshi. Besides these obvious points, Topps is one of the oldest sports card producers and has a unique historical impact with collectors. I just think that Panini understands that they will be forever second to Topps, hence the fierce competition and an improved customer service.

Once again, I'm so happy to be able to share my collection on CCW, I hope the forum issue gets resolved soon. Here is my Topps redemption.

nice card. That white patch sucks though.

Just an FYI, I saw on another forum that a Panini rep was meeting with Russell Wilson this week & he's supposed to be catching up on some stuff. They had been calling about National Treasures on card stuff but maybe he'll be signing TC also.

Yes, bland is one word to describe such a patch. As for your information concerning Russell Wilson redemptions, I'm glad that he can dedicate some time to autograph cards for collectors.

            Congratulations.

I don't think he "dedicates" that time to collectors. He's compensated for his signature and time, so he's just an honoring a legal and binding contract.

A lot of collectors are under the misconception that athletes freely give their time at the ballpark to sign as well. Couldn't be further from the truth. Most teams designate players for fan interaction, even more so on the minor league level.

Want a true perception of a players character and his dedication to his fans? Look for the athlete who happily signs while out in public on his own time. Derek Jeter would be a good example.

It's a cool card! Just a shame that it has such a bland patch, just imagine it with a little Dolphin orange or something, and how that would tie the whole card together!

I've heard less than stellar things about Topps customer service, and downright laughable things about Upper Deck, but everyone seems to like Panini's customer service.
PC'ing Minnesota Twins Auto's and GU's, and popular former Twins in their Twins uniform!
