    Road to completion of 2012 Panini Rookie Hard Hats Complete Set

    To my fellow forum members,

    Since my very first hobby pack in 2012, Mrs. Toshi and I have been purchasing football cards in a willy nilly way. We ran around like little children on Christmas morning ripping at packs like rabid animals, every new debut from Topps, Panini, and Upper Deck were equally exciting as we did not scrutinize nor discriminate against which product was best suited to our taste. It was as if we were in Las Vegas, the only difference was that our jackpot were represented as Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson cards and our buffet was the never ending base, parallels, and inserts that we devoured during and after pulling a big hit.

    Of course, none of this would have been possible without insider trading, spies (007) working at Topps and Panini, and finally holding the executives of Topps and Panini hostage until our demands for big hits were granted. With just cause, all of this is not true. What is the truth of the matter, is a four leaf clover, lucky horse shoe, or rabbits foot if you will, or whatever beliefs and superstition you follow is the psychic ability Mrs. Toshi has. How she did it, and what she felt in each pack or hobby box is a mystery equal to the lost city of Atlantis. She does not utilize the pack search method, she literally holds a pack or hobby box close to her heart and closes her eye for a few seconds, Mrs. Toshi then pays for the product and off we go, once we arrive at home, lo and behold, she pulls a auto of Luck, RGIII, or Wilson to name a few. Call it astral projection if you wish, in actuality I do get an out of body experience when she rips open the very last pack only to behold the key hit.

    So here we were in 2013 and now currently in 2014, intent on recreating the magical 2012 card collecting season. What is for sure is that products are not purchased in a nilly willy way. We now both look at the design of each product, is it something we would kill for? Or a product to be utilized as absorbent material for use at the bottom of a cats litter box?

    We both recently realized the nature of the beast. Why spend a up to a Hundred Dollars on a hobby box when we can purchase outright, the hit that we so desired and still have extra money. Don't get me wrong, Mrs. Toshi has so much fun and excitement in finding the next Jack pot. Now the big question was how and for what reason would we buy singles for. The answer to that question is below in those photos. I will continuously update this thread as we both continue our journey in completing a 65 card complete set of 2012 Panini Hard Hats. Oh yes, I forgot to add, we definitely have fun in our new found hobby!

    I have included as much information possible to be able to get an accurate financial statement in completing this set.

      Among the several complete sets that I own, there is only one other set that had to be completed one card at a time. 2012 Panini Pepsi Max Rookie of The Week. It was a 17 card set. Personally, this set with 65 cards is and will be a extremely huge project. Brett originally recommended that I pursue this endeavor, twice I refused to take on such a project. I allowed this task to sink in my mind for a day and finally concluded that I will take on completing this set. I agree with your comment, it does look good. I still have a long way to go!         As always, I forgot! There is another set that was assembled piece by piece, 1991 Complete Brett Favre Rookie Cards. I'm still short on a few cards due to the enormous cost associated due to or lack of there of it's rarity.

          You may have listed your 91 Favre needs before, but which ones do you still need and I'll keep an eye out.
          Currently looking for:

            Even if anyone of these are found, these are extremely cost prohibitive unless Mrs. Toshi wins the lotto. The SC/SB goes for $1,500, the WC 20, 50, 100, 1000 Stripe sells from $50.00 up to $1,800.

            There is an item that is much closer to my budget that I am urgently looking for. A 2012 Topps 3 Ring Binder. I procrastinated on purchasing the binder off of the Topps web site. They are now unavailable. I want this particular binder so that I can go ahead and purchase a 2012 Topps 440 card hand collated complete set. I think that binder and cards would be a really nice adition in any football card collectors collection.

            If you have one or know of someone wanting to sell one, please contact me ASAP, I will definitely purchase this binder!

                Yes, that's the same thing Brett said. I just can't see it right now as my mind is constantly in search of the next Hard Hats, but thank you very much!

                  New additions, 40 more to go!

                  Hello to my fellow forum members,

                  I miss you all so much! I've been resting as I took a really bad fall on some ice and snow. What upsets me is that I don't remember my fall! Everyone except myself knew of my fall due to my back worsening. No one realized how bad it was. It wasn't latter that a few days after my fall that Mrs. Toshi realized my situation, my left knee swelled up to the size of a softball and then finally began to show the dark purple color associated to a bruise and some ruptured vesels.

                  As my daughter Allana helps me to write this thread, I wanted to showcase some additions that I received in regards to my 2012 Panini Elite Hard Hats Set.

                              To my fellow forum members,

                              First, the Toshi's would like to wish everyone on CCW a happy Easter. Eat, be merry with friends and family, and most important of all, be safe! I'm still in my hobbling around stage, but it's enough for me to get a few things done. As everyone has seen in a very recent prior thread, Mrs. Toshi went out to see what the 2014 collecting year would slowly start to look like with a purchase of two 2014 Upper Deck Blaster Boxes. She's happy and pleased. That's good enough for me.

                              I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.
