  • Russell Wilson 2012 Redemption

    To my fellow forum members,

Approximately a year ago, Mrs. Toshi and I were still novices bumbling our way through this new found hobby. Good or bad, we were just having fun and enjoying our time together. We purchased retail and hobby products during this time, it was our way in acclimating ourselves with the multitudes of various brands. Our information on all things of football cards came from Cardboard Connection. One product that stirred my curiosity was Totally Certified. Micro etching? What in the hell was that? All I was exposed to was full color bleed and chrome variation football products.

Our first Totally Certified hobby box was purchased and we immediately went home to see what all this hullabaloo was about. I felt they were wonderfully designed cards, Mrs. Toshi became mesmerized. Eventually possessed by TC she insisted on another TC hobby box. Her goal was to pull the; "Nice looking card with the die cut spelling rookie and an auto", her words not mine. Her chase? Andrew Luck or RGIII. Having been unsuccessful at her attempts, she purchased two more hobby boxes, I thought she was crazy and we would be eating peanut butter sandwiches for the next six months. After this failed attempt, we moved on. Or was it a failed attempt?

At one point or another, Brett (My daughters boyfriend and collecting partner) went through the TC collection and was blown away with what was pulled. From the micro etched base cards, rookie auto cards, Down and Dirty inserts and many more, to the jersey and auto cards, he could not believe our find. He immediately took notice to the Alfred Morris auto card. He mentioned if we don't want it, he would purchase or trade for it. I did not care as Mrs. Toshi and I had no idea who Alfred Morris was. The only Alfred we knew was Bruce Wayne's butler and as for Morris, the orange kitty cat. Mrs. Toshi wanted to keep the Morris card, she said; "His penmanship looked so good, it looked like a woman's signature as it was pretty".

Of the 2012 drafted quarterbacks, Brett's favorite was and still is Russell Wilson. I was a Andrew Luck fan and Mrs. Toshi was all about RGIII. Eventually we moved on and continued in our expedition of football cards. Fast forward to the Super Bowl. I had an out of body experience as I realized that Mrs. Toshi pulled a redemption of a Russell Wilson card. We waited and waited. Patience is truly a virtue, last Wednesday, Mrs. Toshi received an email from Panini America stating that our redemption will be mailed out. Today was our day! Without further adieu, here is our redemption of:

2012 Panini Certified Freshman Fabrics Platinum Red Signatures Rookie Card
    Russell Wilson #230 (057/199)

I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.

Nice add toshi, I always liked his auto's simple and clean man. It is a clean card, will fit in your 2012 rookie qb collection nicely.

It is definitely a very simplistic and understated auto. I enjoyed Mrs. Toshi trying to get me out of the condo to go and look for hobby boxes, the journey was fun. Mrs. Toshi is extremely happy with the 2012 QB's that she pulled, and I agree this card will nicely fit into our collection. Now we are ready to pull some Manziel, Bortels, and Clowney cards for the 2014 collecting season! Thank you so much for reading and replying on our threads.
