  • "4 Score 7 Cards Ago"

    To my fellow forum members,

No disrespect to honest Abe. I haven't been feeling well mentally and physically so Mrs. Toshi has me at bed rest. One things for sure, she spoils me. I do enjoy the attention given to me although the actual illness is something I can do without.

This evening, Mrs. Toshi is preparing one of many of my favorite dishes, white chicken pizza. Most of our dishes that Mrs. Toshi prepares are from my personal recipe prepared in Northern Europe almost some 30 years ago. Wow, it's been that long! This was done during my experimental stages. Learning both traditional Japanese and French base cuisines I had the base knowledge of which is the key to a successful preparation of a meal in order to expand my dishes. Nowadays, the majority of these so called Chefs have no base of any form of culinary knowledge except to bullshit their way onto a reality show, and to call yourself with the unanimous title; "Chef"!

It's akin to going off on how ones knowledge is all about sports cards yet have no idea what a top loader is and billing ones self as a professional sports card collector. Till this very day, I have yet to describe my title as a musical artist, chef, and professional general contractor. Personally, a title means absolutely nothing to me, in the end it's all about how much money do I take home each day. Isn't that what labor means? In finality, it's truly about the money. Not a title but an individual whom exceeds a skill limit that commands a premium in monetary funds. Most importantly, I teach my children never to run after money, money will follow you at a premium stock due to your special technique and abilities.

Where am I going with this? To be a part of the NFL, one must devote his entire mind, body, and spirit. Neigh, one must sacrifice as such, most fail to, due to the lack of discipline. Only those unique individuals are able to transfer their image onto cardboard that I so cherish to collect.

Today Mrs. Toshi has spoiled me with another 2014 Score Blaster Box. To my surprise, I received another care package from none other than KevAlan. Understanding the dichotomy of my football cards, I am but a child just born out of the womb. I have still much more to learn and so much to see. Until my time, I would like the opportunity to share my cards with my fellow brothers and sisters of CCW. Please review both of my gifts from those I so love whether from my own immediate family or from my own family of CCW. Ultimately, CCW has taught me the true meaning of Christmas. All year long, members of CCW continue to give without the desire for something in return. This is unconditional love.

    Toshi

Here is my guaranteed hit, a helmet card.

I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.

By the way, the Bishop Sankey card with the helmet is made up of a soft rubber. Most helmet cards are made up of actually the helmet of the player. I still think this card is unique due to the soft rubber the helmet is comprised from.

      Hey Toshi,
I got the Helmet cards in the last 2 blasters myself. Pretty cool looking, though would have looked cooler if they had been Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans instead of Jarvis Landry and Kelvin Benjamin. But that is just my Aggie bias lol. Helmet stolen from earlier Gridiron sets, but same company, so all is good.

I collect Andre Johnson, Redskins from the 70’s & 80’s, HOF’ers and Texas A&M Aggies
(Manziel, Mike Evans, Jake Matthews, Ryan Swope, Sean Porter, Luke Joeckel, Damontre Moore, Ryan Tannehill, Cyrus Gray, Jeff Fuller, Martellus Bennett, Stephen McGee, Goodson, Jerrod Johnson, V. Miller, Acie Law, DeAndre Jordan, Antoine Wright, Justin Ruggiano, etc.).

Wow! You did really well, yes I must agree, a Johnny football helmet card would be the ultimate break. As for my taste, a helmet card of Favre, Luck, RGIII, or Wilson would have suffice. Very cool looking Charlie Taylor.

The did a similar thing with the helmets in the cards in Bowman I think it was last year. I kind of liked them. Just sort of a cool card.

Love the inserts in Score this year. The cards look much nicer than the ones from last year. No doubt.

Collecting any Boston Sports (base, insert,GU,Auto) All Teams (Red Sox,Celtics,Patriots,Bruins)
          Also collect UNH Football/Hockey cards
Also now collecting any cards including all dupes of all the following :
MLB : Brian Wilson (Giants, Dodgers), Chris Carpenter (Blue Jays, Cardinals), Sam Fuld (Rays), Mike Flanagan (Orioles, Blue Jays), Phil Plantier (Padres, Red Sox), Jeff Locke (Pirates)
NFL : Kendall Reyes (Chargers), Greg Landry (Lions), David Ball (Bears), Jerry Azumah (Bears), Dwayne Sabb (Patriots), Dan Kreider (Steelers), Ricky Santos (no pro cards)
          NBA : Matt Bonner (Spurs)
NHL : Steve Leach, James VanRiemsDyk, Jason Krog, Eric Boguniecki, Andy Brickley, Ty Conklin, Kevin Dean, Rod Langway, Bryan Muir, Daniel Winnik
I unfortunately can no longer afford to trade outside the US. Even rates to Canada are way too high now!

Yes. After your comment and RBRedskins visual of a past helmet card. I see now the products that were created prior to 2014 Score Helmet cards.

I must agree with you in that last years Score having the past designs with a modern touch did not move me at all. Only a small handful of products are capable to not only create and produce a premium for such throwback designs, they created quite a stir for savy collectors. Topps seems to excell at this as well as Upper Deck. Of course UD does not have a NFL license hence the college team uniforms as oppose to NFL team design jerseys.
