  • Please read and view! "Dedication and Hard Work"

To my fellow hard working forum members,

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for your continuos support in reading the threads that Mrs. Toshi and I have been writing since the 2013 collecting year. Many if not all members are aware in that I am but just a novice in this hobby compared to everyone else whom has been collecting for decades. I've done nothing but to educate myself from members threads and their collecting habits, always asking questions. This for me, is hard work, discipline, and a passion for the hobby as it takes a substantial toll on my mind and body due to my shortcomings (Work related injury).

Working the normal 40 hours a week at times, can barely pay for living expenses that is vital to our families. We then must take in overtime to make ends meet. Budgeting and budgeting again is such a monumental task. Take into consideration the precious time needed in spending quality time with our family members is not just a must, it's a privilege. From our children, wives, and even at times caring for our parents leading up to extended family members can tax an individual to its limits.

Yet, we prevail! That's what it comes down to in which the sacrifice we make that creates a bond within our families and most importantly in ourselves. Ever caring ever loving, and all the while completing our tasks with a smile on our faces whilst enjoying life. This is never a true statement as we must experience sadness, lost, anger, death, and life that just makes us stronger which leads to compassion for our fellow men/woman.

Finally, we try to keep the fire alive in our relationship with our wives/husbands by buying gifts and going out to a dinner date. Mrs. Toshi and I would take the children along for this ride, hence we've never had a dinner date to ourselves until recently as our two children have become adults and has moved out. All we want is that our children's lives leads to a better life than we had. This is what legacy we leave behind. In summation, this is the meaning of life as a whole.

That is why I love football so much! There are parallels to this. You can't do what I described in the above paragraphs on your own, you need to accomplish this as a team. At times it is just the two of us that must forge ahead as oppose to the eleven man team on the gridiron. From false starts to penalties, we too are not immune to a citation for speeding or a reprimand from our bosses. When the play starts, the main goal is to head into the end zone. In our case, it's to complete our journey with our significant other.

Then to start the play all over again, in which children after child gets a repeat of the game plan. With an occasional huddle or a fast pace non huddle offense, this accomplishes the team goals. When raising a family, we do not have the luxury to decide on whether to have a choice of a huddle nor to prepare for a non huddle offense. It's literally flying by the seat of our pants and improvisational techniques that are utilized, with no rest in sight, all this with no pay, all this with dedication.

Finally caring and completing our tasks at hand, collectors can now scrape of what we have saved and purchase hobby boxes and an occasional pack here and there. What sacrifices we make for our passion in this hobby. You see, there are no separation of life, it is truly all relevant, from football to our personal lives. It is but intertwined. The big difference is that we mere mortals do not get paid the Millions of Dollars that NFL players gets as compensation. Wow! Or is it Wow?

Two of my favorite leaders are active quarterbacks in Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. It's not only about how they play and perform, for me it's about how long they've been able to sustain this as most NFL players life span in the league lasts but a few handful of years. This is why I want to obtain an autogrph of these players. Each of us admire a special leader on the gridiron, that's what makes this hobby so much fun. Below is one of my favorite quaterbacks of all time, Peyton Manning, an inspiration to most football card collectors.

    Thank you,
    Toshi

Thank you azdbacks1998, it took some time but I did finally accomplish my endeavors. I really love the auto and especially the UD card. It's one of those embossed cards that was so popular during that era.

Thank you road_runner_1964! I try my best to communicate and be on the same page with forum members. In my opinion, the simple basic day to day operations of ones life reaches deep down into our psyche. "Communicate" is one of the best compliments I've ever been given, it's so difficult for me to put things together physically through speech yet, I'm able to communicate via writing. How strange a damaged brain works. That's one of the reasons Mrs. Toshi or another family member helps me write the threads.

          Thank you so much,

          Toshi

Thank you. Yes, the card looks great. I especially like the raised embossed enhancements. Not only does it give a different perspective, the texture is something I've always enjoyed. Of course, Mannings auto is the key to this card. Thanks for the look.

                  To tsands11,

Thank you so much for your kind words. As a child, I remember stories told of ancient lands and people from far away places. These stories would stir my imagination and allow me to travel through time. I try my best to convey my stories as such.

It's as much as therapeutic help as it's as much a way to entertain fellow forum members. I try to keep it serious, light, fun, and entertaining as much as possible. Sometimes my threads do not even relate to football cards, I do try to blend this scenario.

The card is amazing! This is just one card that whitney777 sent me to attempt my very first TTM. Take care my friend, and enjoy your day.
