Edit: The debate part will come in a later post, this post got super wordy, and I decided to cut it "short".
Fair warning, "TL;DR" is an appropriate response for this thread.
TBH, i attempted to post this last night, while slightly inebriated, and it was a curse word filled mad man's diatribe (whiskey and auto redemption stories rarely mix). Luckily, by the grace of god (or more likely the mods (thank you), the post didn't show up....
To the story...In early 2011 I got in on an ebay box break for 2011 certified, and due to the cheapness of the team, randomly ended up with the Browns. A Jim Brown Immortals patch and auto card #/25 Redemption card was pulled. I put in the request to Panini in February. After waiting more than the requisite 4 or 6 months, or whatever it is, I had heard nothing, and contacted Panini for a replacement card. I talked to a gentleman on the phone who assured me he would contact me back with options for a replacement (this being my first redemption, I had no idea how the system worked). I did not get a call/email back.
I forgot about the card for a really long time (my only use for a Jim Brown Auto is an ebay listing) and remembered it early last month. I contacted Panini again, and left a voicemail, hearing nothing back. Last weekend I went online just to look at the redemption request again, and had a complete, detailed set of instructions on how to request a replacement online, with the added tip that I could suggest my favorite players/teams for possible replacement.
Natch (naturally) I asked for the god amongst men, #9, THE Drew Brees.
This was Saturday night, by Monday afternoon Panini had fulfilled my request. Wondering what kind of garbage card I would get instead, I scrolled back up and saw it was a card from Panini Black (sweet)...Auto'd /25 (sweeter)...of Drew Brees (the sweetest). The card should be in tomorrow, and I'll try and get a pic up. This instantly should become the greatest card in my PC, and I thank Panini immensely (thought I have mixed feelings, which I'll bring up in another post).
Just wanted to post this for those waiting on redemptions, who knows, if it doesn't get filled, you may just end up with a card greater than you could've imagined.
