2012 Panini Certified & 2012 Panini Black

To my fellow forum members,

I received two hobby boxes a few days ago. Mrs. Toshi wanted to cheer me up and I think this really did the job for me as I've been ill for almost a month. I've always had an affinity for Certified as this was my very first hobby box purchase. As for Black, that was my first ever high end hobby box. Actually, this will be hobby box number three for me of breaking out another Black. Of course it's all things 2012 that gets me excited, just like my previous hobby box break of 2012 Panini Absolute. My final card turned out to be a Andrew Luck RPA. Not all of the hobby boxes that Mrs. Toshi purchases turns out this way. We do get some duds every now and then.

Let me tell you about the Certified first. It's suppose to have at least one autograph, as you all can see, I do not have an auto to showcase as the hobby box was missing a auto card. I also received a rookie signature Chris Rainey redemption from my Black which expired two weeks ago. First off, we contacted Panini about the Certified and the Black. Currently, Panini America only honors such issues of a product that has debut after one year. I'll need to wait and see what happens from this point on. So far, Panini America has come through for Mrs. Toshi and I, I have the upmost confidence in them. If I get nothing back, it's no big deal, as the Certified has some of the best colored parallels, inserts, and most importantly, the best base cards ever in a product in my humble opinion. The black is just a gorgeous product overall!

My Certified break consisted of a Greg Childs "New Generation" numbered 149/999, Adrian Peterson Mirror Red 110/250, and also a Jermaine Gresham Mirror Red 133/250, all cards numbered to low production runs. There were three "Immortals", Bo Jackson 018/999 Darren Woodson 618/999, and a Mirror Blue Bryant Young numbered to 064/100. The last three hits consisted of jersey cards, mirror blue Lance Briggs 55/99, mirror blue Doug Williams 37/99, and a FOTG LaMichael James 159/199. The only missing key card from the Certified is the auto card in which I need to wait and see if it gets honored or not.

As for my Black hobby box, my big hit is a 2012 Panini Black Lamar Miller RPA 3 Color Patch Prime numbered to 262/349. I was extremely excited to pull a Devery Henderson NFL Equipment Laundry Tag 05/49, this is my first! This was followed by Black Honors Jerry Rice, a Platinum auto of Quinton Coples 42/49, and a Gold auto of George Iloka 96/99. The most lowest numbered card came from a Jeff Demps rookie base 06/10. My knowledge on this card is that he was a free agent. More research on my part is needed. Overall, I love the cards design graphics and card stock, I know this is the most pertinent and funfilled break that Mrs. Toshi and I have had, and finally that's what counts.

Yes, I told Mrs. Toshi that we can't get a Luck or an RGIII every time we open a box. You are correct and I couldn't agree with you more is the statement you made in having the fun of opening that counts! Thank you, I am feeling better.

I found out via Brett that Jeff Demps won a Olympic Medal for track. Hence his card having such a low production run. He is still currently with the Patriots until the next up and coming Olympic Games. I hope he wins another medal. Good luck to you Jeff Demps!

Panini America Update

I just received my missing auto card promised in the 2012 Panini Certified. Although it's not a Brett Favre auto lol, I love how the RPA has the Bengal tigers stripe. Take a look, I think that's what it is. LMK. I also received a pack of 2013 Contenders which was really nice of them!

Why don't you just surprise me. Send what you think is in equal value. If you want me to be specific, Brady, P Manning, Luck, Favre, or vintage type cards that is not in the best condition. I know that's a strange request, but the vintage cards that looks like it had been through hell and back have a certain personality in my humble opinion.

If this sounds satisfactory to you, go ahead and write up the trade. I'll send the card out tomorrow.
