I'm mixed with anger, sadness, and a little anxiety right now. I bought a Michael Irvin card off eBay about a week ago. The seller put it up as B.I.N. with OBO option for 7 days. I immediately put in an offer on it and waited... while I tried to go to sleep that night I couldn't help think that someone would send in a better offer to the seller and I would never see this card again. So I rolled out of bed and bought the card at his BIN price. I won't say how much I spent but I'm sure you can find it if you want to know...
So Wednesday I noticed the tracking info was changed to 'Delivered' on eBay so I was stoked to open my mail! No card. I checked USPS tracking and same, shipped and delivered. Bummed out I told myself it'll be here tomorrow, no big deal. So when it was about time for the mail to get here on Thursday I actually waited outside until it was delivered. Never done that before... again, no card., I went up to the post office and checked to see if it was there and it wasn't. Since I live in a small town the desk lady called the driver and asked if he remembered delivering a bubble mailer to my address. He did, he said he gave it to my Grandpa on Wednesday (living with them to help out around their house as they get up in years) but there were 2 other bubble mailers I got that day too. I went home, asked my Grandpa, checked all the trash cans, double checked the trash cans, basically flipped the house upside down. Nothing!
So I'm starting to think that this is what happened: The driver scanned the bar code a couple houses before mine to say it was delivered and set it aside for himself. This is the 3rd time something has come up not delivered that was said it had been. It sickens me to think that this guy actually did that, but he might be able to get away with it if he did because as far as the P.O. is concerned if it was scanned to say delivered then it's on the recipient from that point on.
I will be going to the Post Office Monday to talk to the Post Master about it, like that will help at all... if that doesn't work I'll be contacting his superior to make sure someone is held accountable for this...
So if you see this card somewhere PLEASE let me know so I can try to track down how it ended up where it did. Here's the card... don't know the serial number but will let you guys know when the seller gets back to me.
