To my fellow forum members,

I will officially start my 2014 collecting season with a hobby box of Certified. I know I have previously purchased in a maniacal way, several retail products, the 2014 Certified will be a start at least for me in this seasons collecting year.

I was lucky enough to obtain what's called a hot box. There are three hot boxes per case. What separates a hot box from a regular hobby box is the fact that every base card is a Camo card. At first I thought it odd until I looked it up on CBC. Out of curiosity as well as getting free shipping and handling, I added a 2012 Prime Signatures to my order. I feel that this break is a great start to the up and coming collecting season. For a grand total of $117.00, it was money well spent. Here are some highlights to my breaks!

I presume from the thread title that you obtained these from Dave and Adam's Card World?
I had the opportunity this past summer while on vacation to actually visit their stores in the Buffalo area. My kids were hunting something HTF so we went to ALL of their locations! Pretty much ANY box of any sport or non-sport you could want - both hobby and retail boxes!! And pretty much a Buffalo Bills (and other local teams) Superstore!!

Their staff was very helpful and friendly. Their phone order folks are just as helpful!!

For the perspective of the price point of $77.95, there isn’t much of this product to not to dislike. I paid a few more dollars more as my hobby box purchases are made through Dacardworld. By adding a inexpensive item like 2012 Prime Signatures, I was able to get both my hobby boxes free of delivery charges via UPS of which I received my order within 24 hours.

I happened to receive a hot box, of which all my cards were Camo. It’s a very nice touch and a added chase to an already huge product. With several parallels and inserts, this product does not err to nor yield to a simple set. My certified hobby box break offered several low numbered cards one of them being a Oddell Beckham 1/5.

As for many CBC members being disappointed with the players depicted in Certified, this is a unfair disadvantage to rate certified or any other hobby box poorly under the terms of the types of rookies pulled as a hit. In all fairness, if this is a hobbiests goal, you could go the way of purchasing singles via the secondary market or purchasing a 2012 hobby box. The latter, still does not guarantee a big hit.

With some very beautiful patches and a varied checklist, I highly recommend Certified to even the most seasoned collector. As for a visual break, please visit my thread on CBC/CCW Football Showcase entitled Dacardworld.

Yes, you are correct. I would have loved to visit their card shops! I do recall that at the Nationals, they had the most organized section second only to Blowout cards.
