  • 14 Topps Mega Box

Saw that people were scoring hits from the Valor packs, so I gave it a shot. Regardless of the player, I'm always ok pulling a numbered auto, so I'll take this. Not bad for $20, haven't broken any FB in well over a year or more, this was fun.

Here are the noteworthy cards I pulled:

Very nice break, you've pulled a number one draft pick and a starting QB in Bortles. You're just missing three more cards to complete the chrome set of six cards. Very nice break overall!

Thanks! It was a 20 dollar gamble, think I'll leave this stuff alone, all that base Topps is, well, rough to look at. Also picked up two packs of Turkey Red from Target, think I'll leave that alone as well, lol. Hit autos of Freeman and Grice, but again, a lot of base for what I spent.

Wow, that's sensational! I did not know that Turkey Red was available as a retail product? It use to be a strict online Topps website product. I'll keep my eyes open for the TR.

Yeah, typically, Turkey Red is online only through Topps.com, this year for Turkey Red Football, it's a Target Exclusive. Also, is this the first year that TR is an all rookie product? Either way, the packs are on hangers, 24.99 a pop, one auto per, one mini per.

I just broke open a box of this myself. Was pulled in by the box saying 2 HOBBY packs of Valor. Beckett, though, lists a Valor Retail for all their cards, too. Are we being duped into buying this thinking it's Hobby packs when in reality they are retail? I haven't seen any true hobby packs opened in person but like Inception I thought Valor used 75-100 pt. card stock on all their base cards. I could be totally wrong, just wanted to know if anyone knows what the RETAIL Valor cards are like.
The best card I got from the Hobby Packs was a Manziel RC. If they are in fact Hobby Packs I won't mind busting a few more...

Well, I've seen blasters of Valor available at Target and Walmart, so I know there's a retail version of the product. Topps can be pretty harsh at times, but I'm inclined to believe those are hobby packs of Valor in the MegaBoxes.

Valor is definitely a cool product. I haven't been buying much football for many years, but this product might get me back into it. Being a UCF fan, I love the Bortles you found! I pulled a numbered Joe Montana card (not autographed). I'd trade that for the Bortles if you were interested.

I've gotten Valor from the Mega boxes, a couple of blasters and a hobby box. I can't see any difference in the hobby and retail, even though Beckett shows one.
I collect Andre Johnson, Redskins from the 70’s & 80’s, HOF’ers and Texas A&M Aggies

Check to see if the hobby cards or retail cards are watermarked? Maybe black light? Just guessing.
