To Be Thankful of the Little Things in Life

Spending my time at the traumatic brain injury facility at first was the most dismal and boring place I've ever been to. I kept on asking if I could go home, those that cared for me insisted that this was best for me. After reading an article of a OSU football player of whom had a concussion of which he went missing only to be found in a dumpster with a self inflicted gunshot wound to his head, I felt that something could have been done for this very young 22 year old with a promising career and a life full of excitement ahead of him. Sure, there are sorrows in our lives, we've all not only experienced this but were first hand witnesses to this. Luckily for us, this sadness can be fleeting and temporary at best. Imagine, this sad incident could have occurred to anyone of us or happen stance suggest, our close beloved ones.

Could this incident affect us, could this be one of us? Life can be difficult at times but in general, we have much to be thankful for. As my daughter helps me to write this out, I've noticed one important fact with my time at MENTIS. We all need to stop at times and focus on our own space and enjoy that moment of time without any distractions from work, family, or our indelible smart phone. There is much to appreciate and be grateful for.

As I witness those around me letting themselves be carried away with simple annoyances that leads to anger, I wonder to myself is Thanksgiving just a one day thing or something we should follow through with 355 days a year? I guess I've never really looked at the word Thanksgiving before and noticed this one simple phrase or word; "Giving".

Something as small and inconsequential as a piece of cardboard can be a inspiration to us collectors. After my time spent at this facility, I was much thankful and ever more so grateful to be home once again. Upon my arrival home, I was pleasantly surprised and extremely excited by what awaited me for my birthday gifts. I was not the 48 year old man but was a 6 year old unable to hold back in opening my packs of cards. What awaited me from Mrs. Toshi were 2014 Topps Chrome Blaster Boxes x2, 2014 Panini Crown Royale x2 (A Walmart exclusive), 2014 Topps Turkey Red (A Target Exclusive and just in time for Thanksgiving), 2014 Panini Rookies and Stars Longevity (Target Exclusive) from my daughter and Brett (My collecting partner as well as my daughters boyfriend), and a 2012 Commemorative Logo Patch Colts Andrew Luck card from a complete set and a 2012 Panini Absolute Jersey Collection RGIII cards from Fuser. Now I must get the matching card to the Colts Luck Patch, which is a RGIII Redskins Logo Patch card from the accompanying complete set. Thank you so much to my family, friends, fellow forum members, and Fuser!

I have depicted via photo, products starting with 2014 Panini Rookies and Stars Longevity followed by 2014 Panini Crown Royale. I have included my breaks below, please take the time out and enjoy this break as much as I do. The 2014 Topps Turkey Red and the cards from Fuser have to be photographed and dropped into photobucket. Once that's done, I'll "Showcase" the cards as well!

The most known are Daunte Culpepper, Brandon Marshall, and Blake Bortles. A few others include Asante Samuel, Matt Prater, Kevin Smith, Storm Johnson, and Shawn Jefferson.
