  • What's your Mount Rushmore of cards?

These aren't my four highest valued cards, but they are the four I value the most.

    In no particular order...

    1. Roger Staubach rookie. I just watched the "A Football Life" on him and was reminded how great of a player and man he was. I got this card 30 years ago when I was 10. A guy across the street from me collected as a kid and let me have it if I mowed his lawn all summer. Lucky for me he had a small yard! The card isn't mint, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

    2. Tom Landry Cowboy Clippings. Piece of a game worn Fedora. This one is my George Washington, my top card. I tried and tried to find this card on ebay. I couldn't find or I kept getting outbid. Then I moved and went into a local card shop. The place must only be 150 sq. ft., my bathroom is bigger than this place. The old timer that owns it, had it! He pulled it from a pack and it went straight into the case. Got a great deal, and I only buy my cards from that place still.

    3. Bob Lilly Rookie. This one was a challenge as well. The sheet cutting machine often messed up while cutting the cards! Each row getting worse and worse causing cards to get more and more off-center. this card was on the last row toward the bottom, the real bad cards where often just thrown away and not even packaged. Mine isn't centered very good, but I think it adds to the cards history. Also he is Mr.Cowboy!

    4. Emmitt Smith Rookie Score. The NFL's leading rusher. Pretty great year for score brand that year. First they introduce rookies the year they were drafted instead of waiting for them to play a full season. Then their Supplemental set comes out with Emmitt's rookie.

    Let's see your Mt. Rushmore's!

    Honorable mention:
    Tony Dorsett rookie.
    Randy White rookie
    Bill Bates rookie
    Don Meredith rookie
    Harvey Martin Cowboys Clippings
    Emmitt Smith ProBowl Jersey card.

    Great cards and players/coach.
Mine would also include Tom Landry. One of the greatest football minds of all time. This card of his has a piece of suit he wore and also Hank Stram's.
Next would be Peyton Manning Chrome RC. Arguably the best QB of all time
I'd have to go with my Troy Aikman Pro Set RC I got signed by him at one of Moose's radio shows when I was about 12 years old. This card is priceless to me
And of course the undisputed leader (on and off the field) of 90's Cowboys Michael Irvin. Too many cards to choose my favorite from, this one would have to be pretty close to the top of the list if I had to choose.

Great choices! That Landry card is sexy! I have a standing rule to always buy that Aikman card if I ever see singles of it. Usually can get it pretty cheap, but it's worth more than the money.

Is that Irvin numbered? I only have one auto of Irvin, and wish I had more. I also wish he'd coach. His passion is contagious.

THE CARD for me. It's the highest value card that I own and it's a 1991 Topps Stadium Club Brett Favre rookie card. This card was originally given out in packs of cellophane wrap at the Super Bowl XXVI. Since Favre was a unknown in 1991, the majority of these cards were tossed out. I've read that there are only a small handful, somewhere in collectors collections.

What separates this card from the RC is a Super Bowl XXVI Embossed emblem at the very top right hand corner.

This is at the top of my collection. BV $600.00, graded PSA 8 $1000.00. Purchased for at approximately $135.00! Almost 13% of BV.

I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.

i'll bite too. these are my top 4:

          1. this is my favorite card in my collection. He was a bit before my time but he was Beast Mode well before Marshawn. You can tell the jersey has been through hell and this is probably the greatest set ever made for football cards.

          2. This is by far the most I've ever spent on a card. He's way underrated & catches TONS of unwarranted flak in my opinion.

          3. The greatest Cowboy ever. great card, great patch. One of my faves.

          4. I need a new scan but this is the first Andy Dalton auto I ever got when I got back into the hobby in between 2010 & 2011 seasons. I'm a TCU guy & what he did for the program has put us where we are today. I traded a Blaine Gabbert Finest Auto /99 & a Mark Ingram Crown Royale Auto /25 for it. I overpaid at the time for it but it's ended up being a very good trade for me after the fact.

          -Brady

Looking for mainly Cowboys, Andy Dalton

thanks, I have been very fortunate over the years to find some of these cards. the 58 set was from a local friend in town that bought if for like $400 in rough shape several years ago. he got out of collecting last year and offer it to me for I believe $400 trade. I then upgraded several of the cards, but still need to upgrade the brown rc, but yes I do have a complete 1958 set along with 1 page from the topps vault of cards 5 and 6 from the set

sorry I had the year wrong, don't know what I was thinking
