    To my fellow forum members,

I decided to purchase 3 hobby boxes of Panini Prime Signatures as I could not resist the urge of the product cost of $42.95 per hobby box from Blowout Cards. With Mrs. Toshi's blessings I went ahead and as you can see above, there's nothing fancy nor did I get a big hit. What I did get was a outstanding product with very low production numbers, great card stock, and a zen like minimal design.

Ultimately, I'm pleased with this break. What frighteneds me is the 2015 collecting season, since 1955 Topps has produced football cards for 60 years consecutively. What happens now, is that we collectors will see the usual suspect SAGE/HIT pre-season products and may I remind collectors that Press Pass is no longer in bussiness, to be followed by Upper Deck products. We then have nothing but Panini to depend on. I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out the facts! I'm hoping Panini continues it's commitment to collectors like us, and continues to produce quality cards that we are so use to seeing from Panini.

Wow, does this mean no more Topps Chrome, Platinum, and Finest? We can only speculate.

    Toshi

I like the finish of those cards and while there was nothing earth shattering, there are some very nice cards in there. I especially like the Boomer Esiason as it reminds me of when I was in elementary school and I sent letters to Boomer, Chris Collinsworth, Jerry Rice, and Joe Montana. I received a letter and a picture back from all of them but only Boomer sent an autographed picture with a hand signed note.

It's always a pleasure when star athletes take the time out and reply to their fans, for without fans, there would be no star athletes. This is a very cool story! Thank you for the read and reply.

Yes, I agree! This is my first Fred Jackson auto, what makes this card unique is the low number (07/15) and also having it to be part of the gold foil series. Thank you for the read and reply.

It's my pleasure to always share my breaks with forum members. I am also a fan of the "less is more" concept and the elegant design and graphics that are utilized in Prime Signatures products. I'm considering another hobby box from the 2012 draft class of either Certified, Prominence, or Strata. I have to wait and see what I'll order for next month, or maybe singles from 2012.

Thanks for the read and reply,

                      Toshi,

I had not seen any of these cards "in the wild" so to speak. They are cool and I too like the minimalist finish.

I must admit that I admire your upbeat attitude towards box or pack breaks with in your words "no big hits" your always seem to look at the brighter side of the issue!

Thank you for the very kind words, I do my best! I'd rather have some nice cards than no cards at all. LOL!

I'm going on to my 5th year since my TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) from my work related job. I was recently sent to a day care home facility for TBI patients. There, I met many clients whom had suffered brain trauma, a large majority were there due to a stroke which prevents blood and oxygen going to the brain which in turn causes brain trauma. I did not know this at all, I was shocked to see this.

A large portion of these clients can't even navigate simple tasks of day to day living situations. When I first realized after seeing my fellow peers at this center, that I was lucky and blessed to be able to handle and complete my tasks of day to day living, I learned to appreciate the most smallest and simplest things in life.

There is so much more in life that we take for granted, and so much more in life out there to be found. We have much to be thankful for. At the very least I have learned this facet. Don't get me wrong, for years I was angry at the world and cried why me? I then realized that I was a very lucky individual as most people that went through the type of accident I suffered almost always ceased to exists.

It was then that my eyes were truly opened, I'm so thankful to be able to open a hobby box big hit or not and share my breaks with you. Of course being human, I always dream of opening a hobby box and finding a luck or a veteran auto like Brady in my break. What I try to do is purchase products that I love the base cards for as 99% of your breaks are base cards. That way I'm never disappointed. Thank you so much for the read and reply, this means so much to me!

Cool cards Toshi. Didn't get the big hit this time, maybe on the next order. At least you got a nice numbered Matt Ryan for your PC.

On another note, if you haven't already bought some Fire see if you can find the $9.99 hanger boxes at Target (at least that is where I got them). When the retail first came out, I got the $19.99 blaster: 8 packs 8 cards/pack. Each box had 8 flame parallels (1/pack) and 3 or 4 inserts, the rest roughly 1/3 rcs and 2/3 veterans. Well these box hangers (same as the regular Topps) have 72 cards: wrapped in 2 cellophane packages, same ratio of rc/veterans, the larger package has 2 numbered cards in the middle (my first box had a relic, which I didn't get in either blaster), 4 flame parallels, and 3 other inserts. Ends up being a great value, no since in buying the regular blasters.
I collect Andre Johnson, Redskins from the 70’s & 80’s, HOF’ers and Texas A&M Aggies
(Manziel, Mike Evans, Jake Matthews, Ryan Swope, Sean Porter, Luke Joeckel, Damontre Moore, Ryan Tannehill, Cyrus Gray, Jeff Fuller, Martellus Bennett, Stephen McGee, Goodson, Jerrod Johnson, V. Miller, Acie Law, DeAndre Jordan, Antoine Wright, Justin Ruggiano, etc.).

Yes, I'm pleased with the Matt Ryan, the Esiason is my first card of his, so that's special to me. I've only seen him as a commentator. Thanks for the information! Sounds like you got a nice break from your purchases, I did not realize that Fire would be released as a retail item as well. I'll check out Target on Sunday. Thank you for the read and reply.

I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.
